SECTION III - Psychological Evaluation
PERSONALITY: Huntress is utterly pragmatic and ruthless. In her mind, life is all about survival, both on an individual level and on a clan level. The clan must always survive, and, as such, she must always survive. There is no room for sentimentality between strangers; while some may be possible allies, most of them are either competitors or prey. She will, given the chance, consume her fallen enemies. It does not matter if you are a shifter or a retromorph or a keeper caught off guard, all things save other hyenas are a potential food source. In fact, to Huntress, killing something you do not intend to eat is an atrocity; a waste of resources and an affront to the natural order of things. In the same way, she will never kill unless she is hungry. If she has recently fed, you will be safe unless you attack her. Her personality is extremely dominant; in her clan she would follow orders, but only if the person giving them was explicitly above her, which only included her mother and some of her aunts. She has been groomed from birth to be the next ruler of the clan, and, as such, backing down or submitting to the will of someone outside the clan is unthinkable to her. She will make the world bend to her whim rather than bend herself. She will, however, form alliances if she thinks they will benefit her. While a hyena will not share it's own kill with anyone other than immediate family, they will band together to take down larger prey and share feeding rights. A person strong enough to make an alliance with her would gain a powerful friend. SECTION IV - SUBJECT BACKGROUND
SUBJECT HISTORY: Huntress was born into a clan of hyenas in the Serengeti. The clan was made up of around seventy hyenas, of which a little less than half were retromorphs. The clan's matriarch is always a retromorph, and she always mates with a retromorph, to ensure her offspring will be able to shift. The clan matriarch and her family spend a lot of time shifted; the family owns the private reserve that makes up the clan's territory, and are responsible for keeping it out of the hands of humans. With their territory on private land, the clan has not had to worry about the interference of humans for many generations. They are not threatened by hunters or humans settling in their territory, the prey is abundant. With the ruling family able to shift, they are able to purchase the few supplies the clan needs; medicine, clothing, tools and weapons are all available to those that need them. Some of the male retromorphs in the clan seek employment in the nearby city, ensuring that the clan will always have the funds they require. When Huntress was born she had three female litter-mates. Spotted hyenas are born with their eyes open and their teeth sharp; they fight their siblings for dominance shortly after birth. Huntress fought and killed one of her sisters before she was even a day old, securing her position as the dominant female of her mother's first litter, and, as such, the future ruler of the clan. She and her sister were taught how to shift when they were around three months old. From this point, they were taught the ways of both hyenas and humans, older retromorphs who had lived and worked among humans were their teachers. They learned to hunt antelope, to read and write, to mark out the borders of their territory, to keep track of money, and everything else future clan leaders would need to know. Huntress earned her name as the most capable hunter of her generation, able to bring down antelope on her own and lead successful hunts against larger, more dangerous prey. She reached maturity in her third year, and as such was able to chose a mate. She declined, stating that she didn't find any of the males in the clan suitable at this time. Instead, she spent more and more time in the nearest city, befriending young humans while being sure to appear completely human herself. She was shopping for clothes with her human friends one day when a human male propositioned her. She knew that this was fairly common among humans, but as a hyena she could not let it stand; spotted hyenas are matriarchal, the highest ranked male is still below the lowest ranked female. Before anyone could blink she had kicked the male between the legs for his boldness. Unfortunately, a security guard had seen her action and she was arrested for assault. As she was being processed at the nearest police station, a standard test revealed that she was, in fact, a retromorph. She was sent to the menagerie. Inside the cages she would not allow male keepers anywhere near her, trying to rip off their arms if they approached, and had to be heavily sedated. After they had done all the testing they saw as necessary they released her into the menagerie proper. She wandered into the retromorph territories, intending on finding a new clan. However, since she was neither a feline, nor a canine, nor a bird, that left the Bellator. It was not a clan of predators but a herd of prey! Instead of agreeing to their rule not to hunt other retromorphs or shifters, she chose to become a rogue instead. It was not ideal, hyenas are social creatures, but it was far better than having to pretend to be anything other than what she is. SECTION V - OOC INFORMATION
