Light in The Darkness [Ethan]

Word of two Fulsi that wandered into the Carna were captured and held prisoner on the S.S. Anzio. From higher up in ranks they planned on using them as an example of what happens when someone in the Fulsi tries to raid the Carna with public torture and execution. On an average day that would be amusing to watch since it had been a long while for someone to foolishly enter the Carna. By coincidence she managed to run into one of them and asked for the juicy details on how it all went down. Before capturing the prisoners the female Scout overheard what they were speaking of and mocked them as they told her the story mocking them. ‘Oh, Ethan, I’ll always be there for you, ‘ they mimicked in a high toned voice followed with some laughter. Lovely laughed along with the scout since it really was humorous to think about how pathetic that person sounded. ‘Too bad the tall blonde one has to die. He was really cute. Pretty sure that was the one named Ethan,’ she continued on with. Lovely nodded her head up in down deciding to go along with what she was saying. “Eh, tall blondes aren’t my thing. More of a wild hair color is more up my alley.” The Carna Huntress continued small talk with the Scout. When the Scout was ready to leave Lovely forced the conversation to go on just a little bit longer. “How many guards are there going to be? I’d gladly volunteer for it.” The Scout wondered for a moment to remember how many there would be before it finally clicked. ‘Don’t worry about it. Roberto will watch the front and two others will be there over night. They don’t need more than that.’ Lovely thanked her and went on her merry way. Without noticing Lovely had her knuckles squeezed so tight that it started to hurt. “Little shit,” she murmured to herself. Close to be around what Lovely assumed to be midnight she slowly lowered herself into the Carna Bay and paddled her way to the S.S. Anzio which was not too far away. Reaching the entrance she was greeted by Roberto with a puzzled look on his face. ‘Why are you here,’ he questioned her. Quickly she pinned him against the wall of the entrance with her left hand on his chest and her right hand and leg against the wall. Lovely leaned in close to his ear blowing on it for a second. “Why do you think I’m here?” Before allowing him to respond she pressed her lips up against him making him forget everything around him and only focus on the moment. Taking her arm and leg off the wall she grabbed him by the collar and forced the kiss to be more intense. When she separated her lips from his and looked into his eyes Lovely knew she had him hooked. “Lie on your back, put your hands behind your back as well, close your eyes, and let me do all the work,” she commanded. Without any hesitation he did exactly what she asked. Lovely positioned herself on top of him to straddle him a bit. “Don’t open your eyes. Are you ready?” He nodded with a big grin on his face. “Good,” she responded. Without hesitation of her own she grabbed him by the head with both hands and smashed the back of his skull into the metal repeatedly till his head split open. Lovely knew how thick the door was of the entrance that there wouldn’t be a way that the two guards inside would have heard his head being bashed in. “That was fun. Let’s do it again sometime.” After wiping the blood off her hands on Roberto’s shirt she stood up and entered the S.S. It was dark, wherever he was. It took a few minutes for his eyes to adjust to the dim light. He was in a small room with solid, rivet-pocked walls. There was a door in front of him, he thought, based on the small sliver of flickering light coming from a crack. He could hear voices, muffled by the thick walls, and the constant lap of water. Water? He felt it, then, the slightest pitch of movement timed with the hollow sound of water slapping against the hull of a ship; he'd been on ships before, worked a few odd jobs back in L.A. But this one didn't move nearly as much. It must be docked. Ears straining to hear the voices, he realized he could recognize one of them. It was Edmund. He was talking to someone, quieter at first, then shouting, calling out his name. Ethan struggled to his feet, lurching toward the thin sliver of light. He slammed into the door sooner than he expected. But he stood, hammering at the solid metal with both fists. "Edmund! Edmund!" There was a short scuffle, a few more loud shouts, then nothing. Tears welled and he thunked his forehead against the door. All Edmund had wanted to do was help him. And now he was being dragged off by the Carna to god knows where. "Please," he rasped to no one, to anyone. "Please don't let him die."

Entering the S.S. Anzio the smell of steel was overly potent. With very little lighting it was not the easiest to see in such a shadowy place, but it was good for being sneaky. To remain silent Lovely shifted into her Black King Cobra form to slowly move forward without taking the chance of footsteps being heard. Did not take too long before finding another guard posted facing away from her. With her telepathic powers and being close enough it was clear the guard was unaware of her presence. Over to her right there was a slightly opened crate with a crowbar sitting on top of it. ‘Perfect,’ she thought to herself. Shifting back into human form Lovely already had a grin on her face. For years she discovered her telekinetic powers and had plenty of time to perfect it. With her right hand she slowly lifted it off the crate without making a sound. Barely moving her hand forward she flung the crowbar so hard and so fast it penetrated through the back of their skull. Of course she could have snuck up on them and him them with the crowbar in her own two hands, but she didn’t feel like getting any more blood on herself. As she began to walk past the body she did not even care that she was walking on their arm. They were already dead so it wasn’t like it would hurt them. A minute later she came across the final guard of what she believed was the last person to get past standing in the entry way of the cells. Lovely still didn’t fully trust the intel that she received completely. Once again she shifted back into her reptile form to slowly move behind the guard. Being about six inches behind them she thought of a quick way to end them. Took about ten Fulsi in the raid a long time ago to successfully be able to do it. Quickly she put one hand on the back of their head and the other one on their jaw snapping it to the side instantly killing them before they had a chance to react. As the corpse began to fall forward she grabbed the back of their shirt to slowly put them down so they wouldn’t make a loud thumping noise and the used her other hand to snatch the keys to the cells off their belt. It was boring that she couldn’t have more fun with it, but she knew she didn’t have time to play around. Lifting the little peephole of a few cells she didn’t see Ethan. On the fourth one after a few seconds of focusing she saw her younger brother there looking pathetic and sad. On her first try she used the right key and unlocked the door. Slowly she opened it, walked inside, and closed it softly behind her to keep out of sight. Lovely was sure there weren’t any more guards, but by reflex she wanted to be cautious. The Carna Huntress crossed her arms and scowled at her younger brother. “Quick question. Are you an idiot? Why the hell are you in the Carna, you little shit?” ---------------------------- mo money : I did the thing. <3

“I’m so sorry.” He whispered, forehead pressed against the rough, rusted metal. He couldn’t save Henry. He couldn’t save Lily, though he’d tried. And now Edmund … It was hopeless. He played the scenarios out in his head. Even if he managed to fight his way out of the cell, somehow found Edmund, and they both fought their way off the ship … No one in the Fulsi would come looking. He hadn’t let anyone know where he was going. How could he have? The air was tight -- close, too close. His breath came in haggard gasps, his blunt nails digging into the corroded metal. He squeezed his eyes shut until he saw stars, grit his teeth until they scraped and his jaw ached. It had all gone so wrong. Then he heard movement on the other side of the door, a small shaft of light shining through as a small window was opened. He reeled back, pressing himself against the back wall of the tiny room. Keys rattled in the aged lock. He tensed, hands balled into fists. He was ready. He had to fight. He had to try. The heavy door groaned on its hinges. Light pooled on the floor for just a moment before it was blocked by a shadow. Then it spoke. He froze, struggling to hear any sounds over the pounding of blood in his ears. “Little shit,” the figure said. He let out a half-laugh, half-cry, chest heaving as he gasped for air, still reeling. “I must be,” he rasped in reply as she shut the door behind her. Hastily wiping at his tears, he resisted the urge to sweep her up in a hug. He knew better. “Lovely. How did you … I – I came here to find you.” He said, trying to keep his voice even. He watched her, warily, wondering if there were more Carna waiting behind her.

A part of Lovely was surprised she even was standing where she was glaring down at her younger brother. The longer she stayed in the Menagerie Lovely noticed her memories becoming more clear, irrational fears faded, and no more mental break downs. For the first time she was comfortable with who she is. To everyone else she was still crazy since she had no remorse when killing people and still felt pleasure from hurting people mentally, emotionally, and physically. That is honestly her favorite attribute about herself. Crazy never knows it's crazy. Less fog, more action. The memories in prison as well as having Ethan in her life became crystal clear. Deep, deep, deep, deep, deep, deep, deep, deep, deep down inside there was a tinge of love for him that sparked just enough for her to want to save his life from the Carna Alpha. When Ethan spoke Lovely immediately rolled her eyes at his answer. It irritated her that he specifically disobeyed her orders. "Within this gap of time of us not seeing each other you must have hit your head really hard." Lovely shifted position by putting her hands on on her hips and leaning a bit to the side. "It's as if you think I'm some kind of damsel in distress." She closed her eyes for a few seconds and let out a small laugh. "The irony is that now you're the damsel in distress and I'm the one saving you. This is a really shitty plot line." The Carna Huntress closed her eyes again taking in a deep breath and slowly exhaling. This felt like some kind of crappy dream she was hoping to wake up from soon. "Now, get the hell off the ground. You look pathetic," she snapped. Watching Ethan get up Lovely never truly realized how tall her younger brother was. Tall men used to be intimidating to her. Now they're just bigger targets. Slowly she walked forward to stand not too far from Ethan. Lovely looked deep into his eyes with a smile and stayed like that for a short moment. Swiftly she brought her hand up and slapped him across the face. Lovely returned to having a scowl on her face with her arms crossed over her chest again. "That's for being dumb enough to get me into this mess, you little shit. We need to leave now before someone comes across the dead people out in the open to see like a damn show and tell assignment in some boring ass school." A smirk spread across her face when seeing the red hand print on Ethan's face. Felt like a job well done. ---------------- OOC : mo money WHOO!
