HOLDING CELLS

Deep down in the Keeper’s Compound, below the floors of labs and testing rooms, is a whole basement layer of holding cells in which experiments are kept prior to testing, or in between experiments. The sterile white lights are always on, and there is now way to gauge the passing of time. The room is dim, cold, dirty and wet, more so than would be expected from a futuristic facility such as this one. With the comfortable, clean laboratories above, it is no doubt that one would wonder whether this was done on purpose, to add to the fear and discomfort the shifters and other experiments must experience. Each kennel-like cage is large enough for one or two subjects, though sometimes more are crammed into them, leading to complications like electric burns from rubbing up against the cell’s cage door.
