THE CAMP

For those who can find the path into the camp, the thick brush of the forest thins out into an expansive clearing, surrounded by trees and undergrowth that would make it nearly impossible for an outsider to break into the camp. The ground underfoot has sparse grass growth, but is completely bare of grass in the center of the camp, where years of constant pawsteps have left it nothing more than hard packed dirt. Some pridemembers make their dens around the edge of the camp, and the tree-dwelling cats of the pride often take shelter in the enormous oak tree that grows in the heart of the clearing. It is often a site for socializing, meetings, and lazing around in the shade. Underneath the tree is a hollowed out den for the denmothers and their cubs.
