The grasses here range from knee to eye height, and roll and twist in the wind like an inland ocean. In the spring and summer, wildflowers add color to the greens and yellows, and the winter often brings drifting snow. It's excellent for grazing or hunting, and well worn game trails snake their narrow way through in any season.

Coarse briars spring up here and there on the plains, but in one area, nestled between two steep hills, they are clustered and thick, covering several square acres in a narrow strip. Wild rose tangles with gooseberry and blackberry, and many more fruit-bearing plants that thrive in the soft earth here. It provides excellent food, cover, and a hiding place if you can brave the thorns.

The river that cuts through the fields runs wide and strong at both beginning and end, but has sunk underground for most of it's length. Sinkholes where the earth has collapsed inward have become deep pools fed by the underground river, and the edges are often treacherous if you don't use the more gentle slopes. Even the larger pools can come upon you suddenly, hidden by the tall grass, but you can always find shelter from the sun or storms within their rock and soil walls.

A copse of small trees huddle around a storm-scarred giant, and protect those who take shelter beneath them from the elements, and offer a landmark that reaches high above the grasslands. Climbing the ancient branches will give you a view for miles, and is an excellent choice for lost travelers. Beware climbing in storms, the tall branches attract lightning from miles around!

Board Description
BELLATOR MEADOWLANDS
Grass plains stretch far beyond a line of sight, and a forest lines the fringes of the terrain which is mostly off limits as it runs into the Huntingrounds. A massive river winds it's way through the lands, a great 's' shape like a snake slithering through the undergrowth. This river eventually connects with Goodlady Lake, though it is admittedly quite a trek. Lush plains grow thick with the finest grass and provide ample territory for the Bellator herd that calls these lands home. These lush meadows are most often left wholly to the rule of the herd and intruders are not often seen, as the lands stretch far and wide from the city, a vast expanse of rolling, hilly land that never seems to end. There are several alcoves of sparse forestland that stretch from the Huntinground woodland that provide shelter for the herd or the random passerby, however rare they may be. It's not easy to get turned around, though, for in the distance lay the imposing shadow of the Citadel Mountain range and all the danger that lay within.
