Any canine that couldn’t was rather hopeless. However, she found that after her human experience, she had lost her taste for it. Perhaps she was slowly losing the animal in her. The thought was scary, frightening; she didn’t want to become human or anything like it. She’d been forced to have a human shift (which was admittedly helpful at times, particularly when she needed to heal something), and she felt as if that was enough. She didn’t want to be a part of the species, she didn’t want to deal with their problems and didn’t want to watch as her “fellow men” trampled on the world around them.
Pandora was no soldier; she wasn’t gifted in the art of war, and nor could she very well defend herself. Against another Maned Wolf, sure; but Maned Wolves weren’t built for conflict. They were nomads, who occasionally scuffled over territory, whenever one bothered to claim one for their small family. Pandora could at least say that she’d never been in a fight. No, violence was for the brave, and she most certainly wasn’t cut out for it.
Pandora was no healer; she had the knowledge of a few herbs, and the ability to mend that had been gifted to her in some strange experiment that she didn’t entirely remember. She had had the opportunity to learn from a doctor, and sure that gave her the ability to heal, but it most certainly didn’t define her. She didn’t enjoy healing; okay, maybe she did in a small way, but it definitely had its downsides. For one, half the time she didn’t know what she was doing. She also worried about the day when somebody came to her seriously injured. Would she be able to help them? Scratches and small fractures were one thing. Verge of death injuries? She didn’t know if she’d be of much assistance with those.
Pandora was not any of these things. Rather, she was a free spirit, with no inclination for any assigned task. She liked to wander, liked to ignore boundaries even if it was only to entertain her mind. Work made her weary, but her travels calmed her down. Even if she could only go short distances, she enjoyed going wherever her paws wished to take her. Maybe one day it would get her killed, but so far she’d escaped any sort of injury. Who knew when that would change?
Today she was venturing inside Analoya territory, curious about their land. She knew it to be a good place for hunting, but aside from that she was unsure. Maybe it was risky, but life was too short to worry about risks all of the time. If only she knew what she’d bump into whens he crossed over the border.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 495px; height: 700px; background-image:url(http://i.imgur.com/xBICM.png)] This place was strange. So many trees, so much green. He didn't like it, not one bit. How could anyone find their way around in this place? Hyza paused on a fallen tree trunk, at least he thought it was a tree, though he'd never seen so much green crawling it's way up the bark. He felt sorry for the thing, seeing it as the carcases of old kills left to the pests of the world. Vaguely, he wondered if the slick fur of green had caused the great tree's demise, but it didn't matter. What was done, was done, and this tree was definitely done.
There was one good thing about this place, though. The lion was quickly finding out that it was quite a bit cooler than what he was used to. For that, Hyza was grateful. The African sun was harsh, even in the shade. Here it was nothing but shade. That was disconcerting even in it's gift. He was used to using the sun to navigate by. More and more, Hyza found himself getting lost and traveling around in circles. At first, it had made him angry. Then he just didn't care. One place was as good as the next, and as long as he had a place to lay down when he wanted, food to hunt, and and a bit of water, life was good.
He still wondered occasionally how he had turned black; why his tail was thick and heavy. The changes had given him quite a start when he'd first seen himself after waking up in this strange place. One minute he'd been laying in the shade of some brush, watching the two legged in the bellies of their rumbling beasts, the next he felt a sting in his side. Then everything went fuzzy until he woke up here.
Perhaps he should count his blessings. At least there seemed to be no short supply of food in this place.
Speaking of which... Hyza lifted his head and scented the breeze. There was an interesting smell there, something he hadn't encountered before. His stomach protested it's emptiness, and Hyza blew his breath out of his nose. It had been a few days since he'd eaten. Perhaps that smell belonged to something edible. Only one way to find out, and that was to go look.
So he stood, took the time to stretch, and then began to make his way through the forest. It wasn't particularly hard to track the scent; whatever it belonged to was making no effort to hide. Then again, neither was he. He wasn't to the point where he particularly needed to eat, fr now it was luxury and curiosity. The lion was making plenty of noise as he bulldozed through the underbrush, until he finally found a small clearing.
Narrowing his eyes, Hyza tracked the movement on the other side. Some sort of canine, it looked like. Not food then. Oh, well. He did the feline impression of a shoulder shrug as he sat back and wrapped his tail along his haunches. A deformed hyena, perhaps?

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 475px; height: 472px; background-image:url(http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z230/callygirl339/pandatable.png)] She should have been more careful, but caution was the cage of the domestic. No, Pandora was a wild animal, a nomad. She wandered where she pleased, made do with what she had, and enjoyed every minute of it. Maybe that was foolish, but that was how she had lived when she was wild, and she wasn’t exactly keen on changing it. No matter what injury it earned her. She was, after all, extremely stubborn. It was just fortunate she hadn’t come across a situation where her stubbornness caused her any sort of harm.
These lands were extremely pleasant to her, the type of place where all sorts of prey animals would lurk about. Of course, the lake had several animals lurking about, but Pandora didn’t think they were in as much abundance as they were here. These seemed to be the perfect hunting grounds, and maybe that was why the cats had taken it. For a moment she wondered if she could instigate a territory switch, before she remembered that not only was she not important enough to try and manipulate such a thing, but cats hated water. She had a sinner’s chance in hell of convincing any Analoya cat to live in a land that was mostly composed of water. Oh well. She could day dream, couldn’t she?
Speaking of the cats, her eyes spotted one in the distance. It was dark in color, and definitely intimidating in a I could most definitely kick your ass way. She wondered what sort of animal it was; she hadn’t seen one like it yet, and she was rather curious. Well it doesn’t seem like curiosity will kill the cat this time she thought to herself. Carefully she approached, before stopping at a safe distance away. Oh dear lord, that cat was f***ing enormous. He didn’t seem to be particularly pissed off at the moment, and that seemed to be a good thing. Pandora’s smart mouth, however, didn’t seem to think so.
”Quite the reception party, if I do say so myself,” she quipped. Her body was tense, ready to sprint off. Although, she wasn’t quite sure that she could even outrun the cat. Maybe she’d be more agile; yes, considering the difference in frames, that was quite likely. Maybe it would be stupid enough, that if she ran in zig zags it wouldn’t be able to chase her. Yes, because cats were most definitely alligators. ”Thanks for the greeting,” she said, starting to back up to head back to where she came. Of course, she wanted to explore a bit more, but if she could trick this big guy then she’d be alright. Cats could be smart, but she was hoping this fellow fell under the ‘big but stupid’ category.
