Keeper Canons! [OPEN]

There are a few simple guidelines to follow and remember when roleplaying the canon Keepers.

The infamous Keepers, the merciless and sometimes cruel staff that controls The Menagerie. They are divided into several different rankings and job duties. These are people who, more often than not, do not care one inkling for the emotions or fates of these experiments. Experiments are no longer human - they are test subjects. There is not a lot of room for mercy or empathy. Not all Keepers are mean-spirited, most are in it for the science, or the paycheck. Certain Keepers have certain influences, of course, that can make them  more violent, merciless or perhaps unusually cruel or they may be more sympathetic than most.

This MEANS that we don't have Keepers running around being overly compassionate and nice. There may be some instances where a Keeper may not be extremely cruel or hate Shifters, but any attempts by a Keeper to aide Shifters in escape, etc, will result in their termination from the job. If you do not play the Keeper role accordingly it will be taken away.

TO GET A CANON;
Please PM mo money with a try-out post [form below]. It's pretty much a first come, first serve basis. In this post, you must incorporate: personality, history, and the character fulfilling their assigned duties c: If you get the part, you then can post up a bio.

The rules are pretty basic.

- The post must be at least 4 decent paragraphs, or about 450 words; and yes proper grammar and spelling is required!

- Be sure to try and stick to the role that your character is given - you have liberty with the history, but as to their daily actions and opinions, keep with the personality, etc.

- Anyone can try out for any canon character, but only one person per character (obviously XD). Don't let this discourage you! Try your best! <3

JOB DESCRIPTIONS:

SCIENTISTS: Scientists usually stick to the lab and the wall and conduct experiments that often lean on the grotesque side. Though, they have been known to occasionally wander off to research their subjects first hand. Highly intellectual and perhaps some of the cruelest and most grotesque form of Keeper.

HEADS OF; 'Heads of' are in charge of the employee's in their respective groupings. In example, Head of Security: boss around the Security Officers, Head Psychologist: in charge of the entire Psychology Ward, its subjects and its staff, etc. We currently have: Head of Security, Head of Psychology, and Head Chemist, along with the Head Keeper who is in charge of the entirety of The Menagerie.

LAB ASSISTANTS; Aides to the Scientists. They also make trips into The Menagerie, although they are always escorted.

PSYCHOLOGISTS; Psychologists analyze the psychological states of the subjects, as well as record and interpret their actions in comparison to human responses. They are not often found inside the Wall of the Menagerie itself, but may on rare occasions find themselves tracking down their own subjects. May experiment with illegal psychological drugs.

SECURITY OFFICERS; Maintain the safety of the staff - they make patrols of the Wall perimeter, as well as aiding scientists, lab assistants, task-hands and anyone needing an escort inside The Menagerie for protection and back-up.

OBSERVATION ANALYSTS; Observation, or technical, analysts essentially are responsible for monitoring the cameras that document every second of life inside the walls. They spend the majority of their time on the monitors, documenting the effects of experiments and keeping an eye on the perimeters. Many of the Observation Analysts make trips into the Menagerie to fix equipment, and are escorted by a Security Officer.


TASKHANDS; Taskhands are the Keepers that, basically, act as 'zoo keepers'. They are responsible for making food, cloth and necessity drops to the Rings, as well as harvesting samples for the Scientists, capturing test subjects, etc. Can be found anywhere in the Menagerie.

PERSONALITY; Sage Wilson is an odd Keeper, and though she is not necessarily quick to jump the gun and beat the crap out of you, it does not mean she sits idly by. She is wily and creative, using her paranoia almost as benefit; Sage constantly thinks that the Shifters are after her, so she is usually hunting, spying, and preparing for an attack. Her attacks are often noted for their surprising and startling cruelty. She is quick witted and sharp of tongue. Also under the belief that you can 'catch' anthromorphia, so she wears a protective surgical mask while doing her duties in the Menagerie.

STATUS; Technical Analyst

RELATIONSHIPS; Friends with Charlie Haynes
BACKGROUND; Although specifically a technical analyst, Mack also specializes in unit repair - meaning she is able to fix broken technologies on the spot. For this reason, she is not often contained in the strict confines of the Analysis Quadrant. She is also a mechanical engineer.
PERSONALITY; Mack is a rambunctious, unpredictable and thoroughly quirky girl. Quick witted, sarcastic and never at a loss for a witty comeback, Mack is always in disregard for authority - not blatantly disrespectful, but just enough to earn her several demerits. Nevertheless, her ability to fearlessly enter The Menagerie (often unaccompanied by a security officer) and fix what needs to be fixed (whether it be security camera or any type of surveillance device) without hesitation or fear at the thought of being mauled by the Shifters. She is able to get her out of almost any situation, and, despite her small size she can pack quite a punch.

PERSONALITY; Ayame is supremely dedicated to her job and to her superiors - around them she is reserved, very efficient and clean in her duties and above all, respectful. Miss Stone will not, however, tolerate insubordination of others below her or take orders from anyone other than Dr. Grey or Dr. Jarvis. In absence of her superiors, she knows how to take charge - and quite frankly enjoys it. She won't hesitate to boss you around if you're below her, and woe be to the poor soul who balks or refuses her. Prideful and quite nasty when in a foul mood despite her wide-eyed innocent looks. Also quite frightened of making trips alone into the Menagerie, so she is often accompanied by either Charlie Haynes, Adan Delgado, or even Sage Wilson.

PERSONALITY; Dr. Montero is young to be in such a noteworthy position but there is an exact reason as to why - though Geneveva may seem bubbly and kind on the outside, beneath the surface she is highly judgmental, vain, cold-hearted and rather cynical. She will use her people-reading skills to attain lackeys who will do what she says, when she says it, despite whether or not it may break the rules. Even though the responsibility of Head Psychologist is a tough one, Geneveva is more than able to handle the stress of acting professional and scientific when in fact she is picking apart the subject's brains simply to get what she wants - whether it be a wealthy connection on the outside that she promises freedom or something as simple as she's having a bad day and wants to make someone's worse.

Ahh, Dr. Isadora Grey. The conniving, beguiling woman who is responsible for the mutations of thousands. She is the co-creator of the Anthropomorphic race, along with her partner Kenneth Jarvis. She is not afraid to go after what she wants, and often becomes obsessed over a certain goal; she is cold, manipulative and very, very driven. Very concerned with what others think, and not easily shaken.

BACKGROUND; Ex Military (Ranking Officer)
PERSONALITY; Oliver Darrows is the epitome of authority. The way he carries himself, speaks, and even the way his gaze falls coldly upon others reeks of power and confidence. Mr. Darrows began his career in the Military, working his way up through the ranks with a fierce determinism. The stern authoritarian that resulted from his military experience still remains, and he makes sure that the Menagerie is locked down and secure at all times. Though he is not in charge of the entire operation, he is the Head of Security, and takes his job very seriously. He doesn’t care about the debate over shifters that plagues the scientific community, or which amino acid is lacking in the biological makeup of a retromorph; Oliver Darrows indiscriminately eliminates any threat to Seraphim Desoto’s company, be it human, shifter, or monstrosity. He also has a thick Scottish accent~

Titus, Titus - what to say of Titus? He can be summed up in a few words. Cruel, vain and greedy. He believes, with all his heart, that he is better than the primitive race of shifters, and thus treats them as such. Animals. He goes out of his way to be cruel and devises way to torture the subjects, recommending his enemies for the worse experiments, capturing the nicest and trying to destroy them. He is known to instigate fights and also known to hunt shifters for fun. He will not accept bribes unless it strikes his vanity as valuable.

Kenneth Jarvis; an interesting sort. He is a heartless, demanding man who never settles for anything less than perfection. He is in continual competition with Dr. Grey, though they are 'friends' of sorts. Every move that he makes is precise, honed and calculated. Every move is planned. He is a very tidy man, articulate and intelligent in looks and mannerisms. When he walks into a room, most fall silent in awe of the commanding aura that he exudes.

BACKGROUND; Ex-military (enlisted)
PERSONALITY; Charlie Haynes is one lazy, bullheaded, loudmouthed sonuvagun. Naturally charismatic, charming and quite handsome to boot, Charlie is extremely flirtatious, falsely flattering and all around quite the ladies man, he is often found in compromising situations with fellow co-workers and even the odd Shifter or two. Constantly slacking off to laze around in the labs, flirting with the pretty assistants, Charlie is under constant fire from his stern boss Mr. Darrows who is on the verge of firing him. If it wasn't for his skill in handling situations that escalate into violence without actually ever using physical contact or violence, he would've been fired ages ago. Constantly breaking rules and always suffering the consequences - he often sports a black eye, most likely from Darrows himself (albeit unprofessional - even the Keepers tend do things differently.)

RELATIONSHIPS; Dislikes Charlie Haynes
BACKGROUND; Comes from a broken home - father was a Shifter and put his mother and two younger siblings through hell, tearing the family apart (emotionally), finally abandoning them after years of emotional trauma. Adán's hatred for Shifters stems from this.
PERSONALITY; Due to his rather tormented history, Adán is very dark and sullen - there is very little that can make him smile, except to make the Shifters suffer. Needless to say he is very bitter and quite the malcontent, never lacking in a snide comment against the Shifters. His hatred for them is intense, funneled by a need to blame his father's monstrosities on the fact that he was an animal. Adán Delgado is one of the most disliked Keepers in the Menagerie. Despite his lower rank, he still is notorious amongst the Shifters for instigating fights, handing out rather cruel punishments and even more important, handing out powerful blows. Though rather short in stature in comparison to most Shifters, Adán will not hesitate to fight dirty to get the upper hand - he is noted to have killed several Shifters with his bare hands - tranquilizers not needed.

BACKGROUND; in Molecular Biology
PERSONALITY; Raja Virinchi is a scientist at heart. He lives for the thrill that follows solving a complicated chemical mystery, the rush of excitement after delicately and painstakingly dissecting the molecular makeup of an organism. He is one of the Keepers that genuinely wishes to learn about the creatures that dwell inside the dome, for the sole purpose of broadening his scientific horizon. Raj holds no particular grudge against the shifters, nor does he hate any of the other beings in The Menagerie. He only sees them as subjects, full of knowledge to glean through his experiments. As the Head Chemist of the labs, Raja oversees a group of other scientists, who with his help, have unraveled the genome of the shapeshifters and retromorphs, and have found them to be eerily similar. For some, this is proof that they are all inhuman. To Dr. Virinchi, they are all the more interesting.
