Despite the countless times she had snuck out of the dens and gone wandering off into the different areas of her pack's territory, Belle had yet to come to this wet, weird smelling, and even a bit creepy looking place. Because of the cold of winter, many of the pools of this wetland were frozen over. Ice covered practically every surface and the mud, though somehow managing to stay fluid and soft, was freezing. But, that did little to stop the small pup. Tail wagging faintly, though more in nervousness than anything else, she slowly stepped through the out edge of the bog, her tiny paws sinking into the soft earth. The mud was practically everywhere but hidden from sight. One moment she would be stepping on a soft, solid piece of moss and earth only to find herself sinking in the freezing mud. The dark brown, almost black sludge stuck to the fur of her legs and underbelly, plastering it to her body. It seeped into practically every crevice it could possibly reach, but it did nothing to chase her off.
While most pups might see the logic in turning back and staying clear of this land, Belle was determined to get through it just like she was sure all the other members of the pack could. Besides, as a Seeker, she would have to go through all sorts of land and she couldn't let something like this scare her off. Of course, what she failed to see was the fact that a Seeker would have to be smart, too, and avoid such dangerous places if they had to. But, that hadn't even appeared in her mind. Snorting as the sour smell of the bog filled her nose, Belle stepped carefully from one patch of moss to the other, having learned in the beginning of her exploration that that was most likely held by solid land. As she went deeper and deeper into the muck-filled wasteland, she felt her confidence grow, her tail wagging. "After I tell the Chieftain about what I was able to do, he'll just have to make me a Seeker," she cheered, wiggling her haunches in excitement as she jumped for another patch of moss.
But, in her excitement, Belle had failed to notice how far the patch had really been from her. Greatly misjudging the distance, her hind legs sunk into a deep pool of brown, dirtied water and mud, sucking her backside in. Scrambling for a hold on the piece of solid land, her small claws dragged over the moss, the small plant-like substance simply tearing away."H-Help me," she howled, her lower half continuing to sink into the muck as she desperately tried to keep her head up and away from the dark, sour sludge.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 498px; height: 768px; background-image:url(http://i48.tinypic.com/246057c.jpg)] It had been just another one of those days, boring, boring and just boring. Okay chasing off a few rogue animals might be fun, but even that got old after awhile. All Catori wanted to do was go back to her walls and curl up, listening to the water and just relax, without having to think about anyone or anything. Well maybe not anyone, Belle was in her mind, that sweet yet little ball of furry trouble. No wonder she wormed her way into Catori's heart so easily, than again just to take one look would do you in. Those big expressionate eyes, that cute tail wagging all innocently, yea she was a damn sucker. But she sure as hell wouldn't admit it to anyone, and next to Quick, those two were really the only ones she let get close to her.
Making her way towards the bog, which she hated, yet did make sure to do a scan regularly. One didn't know when someone unaware or even aware wondered in and got stuck. Not that she ever expected to see that happen, since it hadn't all the times she did her rounds. But I suppose anything was possible. Eyes gazed around, her nose wrinkling, as that horrible scent burned her senses and damn near made her gag. Shaking her head, she sighed some, keeping to the more solid edge, not stupid to attempt to move in further or dare try to see how far she could go. No, she preferred not to smell like this place, more than she probably already did.
So as it seemed, fate was wanting to change that, as she came around one corner and stopped. The faint cry for help, jerking her head towards the center and she mentally cursed. Trying to catch a scent, but the bog was too strong to pick up anything, so she sighed some softly. Looking at her options of getting in, without, getting herself stuck as well. Carefully, she began to edge herself in, keeping as best as she could near the trees. Hoping to grab the branches if anything went wrong, licking her lips as she concentrated. Holding her breath some, this smell making her dizzy and sick the deeper she got and that wasn't good. Spotting a slight patch of brown fur as she got closer to whoever it was stuck, but as she looked her eyes widened. Realizing just who it was that got stuck and mentally growled, that pup was never going to learn. But now was not the time for lecturing.
Moving out a little, she moved along the trees, judging from them to where Belle was. Taking in anything she could possible use, that would even hold weight. "Belle? Just try and not move, I'll see if I can get you out of there. Just try and not struggle or move you will only sink faster." Her voice coming out like normal whenever she spoke to Belle, not wanting to spoke or upset the already scared pup, that wouldn't help either of them. Slipping around some trees, the grabbed a hold of a low branch and pulled herself up. Climbing along the branches to see from a higher view if anything would work, or if she could some how reach her. "I'm up in the trees, behind you right now Belle. I need you to try and see without moving your head to much. If any of the trees look like they have strong enough branches, I can possible hang down and pull you out."

With nothing for her back legs to push against and her small, weak forelegs not having the strength to pull herself out, Belle was sinking fast. Her paws blindly scraped against the small patch of solid land uselessly as she continued to kick out with her hind legs, desperate to keep herself from sinking into the murky pit. Her chest was heaving from fear and the amount of effort it took for her to keep her head up and out of the sludge. But, she was getting dangerously close to being fully submersed. Her small form continued to sink up to her chest, the black colored mud sticking to her fur like glue. In her state of panic, the small pup hadn't even noticed the other canine that had come to her aid. At the sound of another's voice, her ears instantly perked up as she jerked her head off to the side, attempting to see who had come to help her. "Catori," she whined, her normally bright and excited eyes dark and swarming with fear. "Catori, help!"
Her whines and whimpers became louder as she failed to truly listen to the older canine, unable to focus purely on her friend. The wolf retro had been the one that had first found her wandering in the land. If it hadn't been for her, Belle would've more than likely have perished in the Menagerie. But, it was because of the female that she was alive. And, it was because of her that Belle was so determined to be a Seeker. She wanted to be able to help her pack and others just as Catori had, but it was clear that the small pup was far from holding such a rank. But, that was something that could be thought about later as she was at risk of possibly sinking in the earth. Desperately trying to look fully up at the woman, she made an attempt to get to her, but such a careless movement cause her to lose her grip on the one thing that had been keeping her up. As her paws fell from the piece of solid land, her head practically sunk into the dark pit, staining her fur as she gasped for air. "Catori," she howled, her young, frightened mind paying not attention to any of her instructions. Belle just wanted to get out.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 498px; height: 768px; background-image:url(http://i48.tinypic.com/246057c.jpg)] Honestly, she should of known that the pup wouldn't listen to her when she said do struggle. Having known she was going to be afraid, but Cat was hoping, hoping that possible knowing someone she knew was there would help. Obviously, she was mistaken and mentally growled at herself. Shaking her head when she heard Belle crying out for her and still moving around. Almost wanting to scream at her, but knew it wouldn't help at this moment in time. So instead she took in a few breath, pushing away her annoyance at this whole situation and tried to focus.
Belle needed out and she needed out now. The more she struggle the worse it was becoming not to mention, the faster the pup was sinking. So she stayed up in the trees, taking to moving from one to the other carefully and quickly. Thank god she was agile, and knew what to look for when she did this otherwise, well they both might be in alot of trouble.
Without getting the answers she needed, Cat just took a risk herself. Moving along the trees, taking a hold of one she moved long it to another. Judging the distance from there to where exactly Belle was, which thankfully wasn't too far bloody out. Of course leave it to the pup to still not listen and now start sinking more. Cat wanted to strangle her, but at the same time she just wanted her safe. Grunt would be pissed if she didn't try and save her. Like hell she wouldn't anyhow, the pup already was weaved into her heart somehow. After reaching, what she hoped was the right tree, she tested the strength and than took a breath. Carefully working her way out along the branch, holding onto the one just above her for now.
Once she had gotten where she needed, Cat, slowly, carefully bent down, before sitting down on the branch. Slipping both legs over and wrapping them around it as best she could, and than leaned over and down, looking over at the situation. Seeing how Belle was she kicked herself again before finally speaking. "BELLE!!! Stop struggling, your making it worse. Now if you can get any kind of leverage with your paws use it and try to push out. As I lean down and try and reach to pull you out. Just for once LISTEN!!" She hissed the first and the last part, letting the pup know she had better if she wanted out that is. Reaching finally with her hands to try and get a hold of fur so she could yank her out. Hopefully.

[atrb=width,500,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][bg=82003D]
When she had been a younger pup, spending her days roaming around with her father and brother, Belle had never truly gotten into such trouble. There wasn't as many dangers in her stone forest that she had lived in before being placed in this strange land. The only thing she really had to be cautious of were the large shiny beasts that would dash by on the black paths that crisscrossed between the stone dens of the two legs. It was because of that that such a concept of danger was practically foreign to her. Not only that, but even her life before living with her father had been filled with playing with her siblings and the two leg's pups. She had no need to worry of danger in their dens, always being protected and shielded from such things. But, it was clear that if she wanted to survive in this land she would have to learn to being more careful and follow the rules and orders of others.
She was surprised when Catori suddenly snapped at her, the pup flinching faintly as her deep brown eyes stared helplessly up at the woman. And, for the first time since she had gotten herself into this mess, Belle finally stopped her thrashing and listened to her friend. Nodding her head, she kept her motions still, only occasionally moving to keep her head above the sludge. Panic and fear continued to pulse in her veins, but she had to keep herself from moving unless she wanted to sink to the bottom. As she felt Catori's fingers briefly brush over the fur of her scruff, Belle instantly tried to reach her muzzle to her, searching for any sort of comfort. She needed something or someone to bring her that calming feeling. But, she could not truly reach the woman. Whimpering, the small brown, mud covered pup tried to kick with her back legs to touch the woman once more, but she simply could just barely reach. "Catori...I-I'm scaried," she whimpered out.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 498px; height: 768px; background-image:url(http://i48.tinypic.com/246057c.jpg)] Catori wasn't trying to come off mean, not to Belle, but under the circumstances the pup needed to listen. If she didn't that they would have a bigger issue. Cat knew it was hard, hell it had been hard on her too when she was changed, no longer just a wolf but a freak. Well that had been how she looked at it anyhow, she was some genetic freak. Sighing softly, she pushed all the thoughts from her mind, needing to instead focus on getting Belle free. Plus NOT falling inside the damn problem with her, and given she was upside down. You get the picture. So seeing Belle register what she tried to tell her, it had Cat relaxing just slightly. 'Good pup' she thought.
Reaching down, her fingers briefly brushed her soft fur, and could both see and feel Belle finding some comfort from it. Those crystal hues going briefly to the pups, upon hearing her words and offered a faint smile. "I know Belle, I'm trying to get you out. Just try to not move unless I tell ya." Glancing up, she tried to judge how much more she could move. Keeping her legs still locked, as tightly as she could manage, turning back to look at Belle. Sucking in a deep breath, her hand reached out once again, brushing along fur. Ignoring the feel of the bog mixed in as she moved to try and find a good hold.
As her fingers glided along the fur, she aimed for Belle's neck, reaching as far she could possible. Curling into the pelt, unable to stop from possibly hurting her in this situation. Still, once she felt like she had a strong enough grip, she began to jerk upwards, attempting to pull her up and out of the bog. At the same time, pushing or pulling rather against the branch she was hanging from, needing to keep a tight enough grip. So for now she pulled, adding her other hand once just a little more of the pup was pulled up enough. "Stay calm, this would be so much easier if you had been human when this happen." Than meaning the pup could simple grab a hold and help pull herself, but it wasn't so she was going to deal with it.
Using her legs strength, her core muscles constricted as she sucked in a breath. Using if possible all her muscles, pulling and attempting at the same time, to begin lifting herself and Belle. Think a sit-up. Growling at just how stuck she was, probably all the struggling made it worse. Tightening her grip and hold, before jerking harder, "Sorry if I'm hurting you, but really no other choice right now." Offering what comfort and understanding she could for the moment. Thankfully, she could feel the pup's form moving and becoming a little easier to pull at, so that was at least a slightly good sign.

[atrb=width,500,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][bg=82003D]
When she had been a much smaller pup, Belle had always been picked up by the scruff of her neck. Her mother was always trying to keep her and her siblings all together with her, but the brown female had been one who had never truly liked to stay in one spot. So, she had repeated climbed out of the little bed that her mother had, but she was always picked up and placed back into the bed. So, being held by the scruff was not anything new to her. But, as she was both much heavier now and stuck in this thick, compressing mud, the simple and once comforting gesture was painful. As she felt Catori grasp the back of her neck, Belle had assumed it would feel the same as it had when she was younger which was why she was so shocked when the pull felt so painful. With a sharp yelp, she instinctively twisted her head around, attempting to snap and nip at the object that was causing her pain. But, at the last moment before she could actually harm the woman, she managed to grab a hold of herself again.
Whimpering, her ears pressed back against her head, the brown-furred, mud covered pup did her best to not move. As the older female continued to pull at her scruff, she felt herself being lifted a bit from the sludge, but the pain only increased. When Catori gave another soft but quick tug, another high-pitched yelp escaped her lips as she reactively jerked and twisted beneath her hand. Her instincts were repeatedly telling her to snap and bite down at the hand that was causing her so much pain, but her humanity was struggling to remind her that this female was just trying to help. As her mind became so jumbled with the constant battle between feral instincts and the humanity she held, Belle didn't register the fact that her form was slowly being lifted from the mud pit. And, in a few moments the small pup could freely move her front paws. "C-Catori," she yipped as she lightly kicked out one of her freed legs. "It-- It's working!"
