She had hated the cold, it was something she knew she would never get used to. But, this; the heat, the green of the trees, it was similar to her own homeland. No, the trees would never be the same. But, it was as close as she would ever get now. But, while she would've been happy for the warmer moons that had finally come, there was something else on the feline's mind. It had been weeks since she had ran into the mute lioness and despite how they parted, Mali couldn't get her mind away from Peerc. She was still lost and confused on the emotions that their meeting had stirred and it frightened her in a way, but that seemed to matter little to her mind. During times when she was alone she thought back to the lioness. She thought of the unique scent that belonged only to her, she thought of the gentle look in her eyes and the firmness of her form. She missed being with her. If only she hadn't pushed her away. Closing her eyes, Mali curled her tail around her paws as she stared blankly at the rushing waters of the river. She wanted to see the shifter again. She wanted to be near her. Her emotions scared her and she had no idea what any of them truly meant or what she should do about them, but there was one thing she knew. She missed Peerc and would do anything at that moment to see her again.

It had been such a long time since she had even set foot within this territory, hell it was a long time since she had even seen a retromorph. As time passed she had become more and more of a loner and her cannibalistic ways seemed to be not really be accepted by the inhabitants of the giant dome she had been dumped off in months before. The giant lioness could only think of one inhabitant that she might go and visit and not be shunned off by.... Mali. The named echoed in her mind and her large, torn ears perked backwards as she trotted through the woods with her body kept low so she would not be seen by any other creatures that may want to protect this territory.

With her nose close to the ground she continued down that path that Mali had just gone down as the scent itself was still warm and fresh to her blackened nostrils. It was not long until she peeked over the hill to see a river. Her head tilted to the side as she hoped that the other female had gone in the river, which would wash away the direction in which she was going. The trail would end there and it would take her ages to find it once again. Dread pooled in her belly until she saw something twitch at the corner of her vision. Her large head turned as she looked down into a ditch in which was closer to the waters edge. It was a tail..., but not just any tail. Percylla would remember THAT tail anywhere.

The cannibal stalked her way down until her large form was right behind the other female until she finally touched her nose to her back and licked her shoulders with her ears back. Even with the past rejection, she still felt a great affection for her. The lioness moved beside her a laid down with eyes wide.

It had been a difficult time. With her pride suffering from the lack of fresh water in the past moons, the water was still handled with caution as no one knew if it was able to be drunk. Although a sickness had spread through those that had consumed the water, very few had truly passed from this world. The ones that had had been the young or elderly, having been too weak to fight the sickness. But, many pushed through. If it hadn't been for the graciousness of those canines then they no doubt would've died from dehydration. Her whiskers twitched faintly at the thought. The general situation really hadn't helped her in the slightest as during such harsh times her mind had been filled with confusing thoughts that she simply couldn't understand. It wasn't simply the desire to be with the feline shifter that had invaded her mind. Thoughts of being with Peerc even in her unnatural human form had also filled her dreams. She had imagined what it would be like to simply curl up beside her in such a form and what if would feel like. Each time the thought had crossed her mind she found herself growing excited. Her fur would bristle and she would just feel overall tingly. It made no sense to her. All these thoughts and emotions had overwhelmed her and the issue with the water poisoning had put even more worries on her mind. From the stress of it all the feline retro had actually lost some of her weight. Her usually lean form held more of a bony appearance. Her coat wasn't as shiny or smooth looking as it had before. She was not incredibly thin, no, but enough to that someone could notice if they looked closely enough. So focused on her thoughts, Mali had failed to sense the presence that had made itself known until she felt something push against her shoulder. For a brief moment the feline tensed, prepared for either a fight from an intruder or a scolding from one of her pridemates. But, neither of those came. Instead the female felt a wide tongue brush over her fur that sent a wave of warmth through her. Twisting her head around, the margay stared at the lioness with shock, having never expected to see her again. After her stupid response to their time before she had been sure that the woman would hate her. "...Peerc...," she said just above a whisper before she quickly moved, pressing her muzzle deep into the fur of her neck. "Y-You came back! Oh, Peerc, I-I thought," she began, her ears pressed back as she continued to rub her head against the lioness, a surge of happiness filling her being.

Her excitement was something that she expected as she felt the same way. It felt nice to have the small form pressed against her own large one. A deep sigh escaped her as she touched noses with the female before she decided to go back into her more 'natural' form. Her fur shifted into skin and her large form became more compacted as she sat back on her rump. She looked at the small cat and ran her fingers through her short, dark locks. Her mismatched gaze never faltered as she slowly pushed her hands out.

Her fingers slowly interlocked as she slowly picked up the small feline and cradled her in her arms. She slowly pushed herself back so she was on her own back and the other feline was laying on her chest. Her fingers slowly interlaced over her head as she gently tickled and stroked behind her ears. Slowly, she brought her hands up and rubbed her fingers over the sensitive lips and nose of the Mali before bringing them up to let them flex the ears. Her tilted to the side as she massaged them. No words were said as she did this action gently and lovingly.
