SECTION II - PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES
SECTION III - Psychological Evaluation
PERSONALITY: Noelle is loyal to a fault. Brave, daring, maybe a little reckless. What those around her don't know is that it comes from a place of deep, long-buried guilt. Having given in to cowardice in the past with grave consequences for those around her, she now over-compensates for it, diving into situations that some others might hesitate at. She still struggles with controlling her fear when it comes to larger scale conflict, such as raids and battles. In such situations she tries her best not to think and just acts out of pure instinct. Because she's let people down in the past, Noelle is determined to prove herself to the Carna. She is viciously protective of her ringmates and now, the scouts that follow her. She works tirelessly to protect the borders, and would no doubt blame herself if any threat got past them. Fear is her ultimate enemy, and failure is not an option. SECTION IV - SUBJECT BACKGROUND
SUBJECT HISTORY: Noelle was born in Congo, which like all other places on Earth, is controlled by UNIT. Though it was one of the later converts, the country had still been firmly within the powerful government’s grasp for several decades. No matter how much the local authorities tried to maintain the charade of independence, all who lived there knew that it was UNIT’s mercenaries that kept the country’s people in line. Resistance to UNIT flourished there, and Noelle’s father was a leading figure in the resistance. His group was active in protesting and fighting against UNIT’s mercenaries, who often took control of situations on their own, leading to widespread violence and bloodshed. This was the world that Noelle was born into. The family’s dinner table was a place to eat together, do homework, and arrange secret meetings where battle plans were discussed in hushed tones. There was no wall between the children, Noelle and sister Khwezi, and the political turmoil that gripped the community. Noelle’s parents wanted it that way, in fact, and raised the girls to be staunch opposers of UNIT’s violent mercenaries. The family had sense enough not to fight directly against UNIT, but instead hoped to only get rid of the hired thugs that kept everyone living in fear. By the time she was a teenager, Noelle had been trained to fight, and was trained to recognize and report back on the enemy. She could spot a new stronghold in town, in a bar, restaurant, or some other small establishment, just by a glimpse at the people that frequented there. There was no way to mask the look that a killer harbored in their eyes; she saw it so often that it was plain as day. It wasn’t until she was twenty-one that the bloodshed followed the family home. Late one night, a band of mercenaries broke into her home. Screams woke her from her sleep and she immediately went for the handgun that she kept by her bed. Noelle ran out into the hall and was met with mercenaries dragging her mother away. She screamed for her sister, who ran to her side. The girls were horrified to see their father lying in a pool of blood, assassinated by the intruders. Khwezi immediately went to work trying to save him, unaware that it was already too late. Noelle darted out the door after the mercenaries, but was held back by their gunfire. She shot after them, but they got into their truck and sped away, taking Noelle’s mother with them. Noelle and Khwezi were not alone afterward, but became closer with the rebel group that was like family to them. Noelle went on more raids than ever, determined to try and find her mother alive. It was on one of these raids that everything went wrong. Noelle, Khwezi, and a group of ten other rebels broke into an enemy warehouse, thought to hold UNIT prisoners. They had gone on the word of another high-ranking rebel, Thami, who Noelle had known since childhood; he was her father’s best friend and like an uncle to the two girls. When they arrived, the mercenaries were waiting for them, and they were met with a hail of gunfire and a rush of enemies. Shots erupted from behind her as well, and Noelle screamed as pain ripped through her left leg. She turned to see Thami firing into their own group, trapping them between himself and the mercenaries. Overwhelmed by pain, fear, and betrayal, Noelle bolted while the others fought back. It wasn’t until she had made it a few blocks away that she realized that she was standing on four legs, not two. She had shifted into a powerful wildebeest during the conflict, out of her instinct to stay alive. Once she realized what had happened, she immediately shifted back and collapsed into a heap on the pavement, sobbing and bleeding. Witnesses in nearby buildings had seen the wild beast turn back into a girl, called the authorities. Some of the same men she’d fought against her whole life came and captured her, tying her up, blindfolding her, and taking her to some unknown location. She assumed that she was worth keeping alive, as UNIT was always on the hunt for shifters. The mercenaries turned her into the government, and she was in the Menagerie within the week. Noelle found her home with the Carna, where she served as a loyal scout for a couple of years. Though she had not been friendly or talkative at first, she learned to treat her captivity as a new lease on life. She soon made friends in the Carna and treated them as her new family. She vowed to never abandon them like she’d abandoned her mother, sister, and friends back home. Eventually, she was promoted to head of border patrol, and strengthened this resolve.
