The hunter strode carefully along the barriers that separated him from the outside world, excitement burning bright in his eyes and tension making every muscle in his body rigid. While he’d never done this before, he figured there was a first time for everything, and the very anticipation of the fight to come was making him feel high and giddy. He knew he had to calm down, though, if he were to keep a cool head during it, and so he paused and turned to stare through the wall, to watch the faces that stared back at him. Py bared his teeth in a feral mimic of a smile, knowing what they didn’t – they would be getting the show they desired in due time. They, the audience, were always eager to see a little bloodshed.
He hadn’t chosen this place of meeting for that reason, though. No, he just didn’t see the point in travelling to some far off place that was in neutral grounds, and he figured that the cliffs were too risky as well – it wasn’t as though he were plotting her death, after all. All he wanted was her rank - to be the lead hunter for the Carna. The man turned away from the humans’ faces so his back was towards them, and continued to stare around, seeking her out. The mid-afternoon sun shone weakly in the winter sky, giving off dull light; he’d be able to spot her quite quickly once she did decide to join him. He’d issued the challenge only an hour or two ago, so hopefully that would be soon.
Of course, he hadn’t exactly been too specific on where he actually was, and given her lack of sight, this would be a bit problematic. Head tilted, he listened for a beat or two, and then let out a sharp, high-pitched whistle; if she was there, she would hear that.
“Come out, come out, Seija...”

She walked along, shoulders low and arms hanging to either side in a relaxed posture as she strode forward along the wall. She felt the eyes on her, lips pulling back in a grin over pearly whites as she continued forward, not having been too pleased about the second challenge this year. At this thought a low rumble rolled in the back of her throat as she slowed, head tilting as she heard the piercing whistle not too far off and rolled her eyes as she found herself coming up over a hill to stand not twenty feet away from the male.
Teeth bared she found her fingers loosely curling into fists as her head tilted slowly, sizing him up as he shifted upon his feet ever so slightly, the murmur of the peoples voices and hands touching the glass not heard but felt as the vibrations spread through the ground under her feet. She said nothing to the fact that he called her like an animal -- even though in reality they all were -- and she tilted her head, moving her jaw sideways to issue a crack of her neck as she giggled softly and yet high pitched. She let the vibrations take over, feeling every little subtle shift to open her "vision" wider around her as she chewed on her lower lip.
"Pythagoras ... how nice of you to call this challenge," she let out his name with a feral hiss, though the rest was spoken in an upbeat, higher-pitched creepy tone. She slowly let herself focus, feeling a bit from her core expand outwards and tingle through her limbs.
ooc ; truthfully I didn't know I could /not/ accept. ^-^;; I is rusty with roleplaying and been super busy, as I always am, this Halloween season.

He waited patiently, his weight shifting lightly from foot to foot, the initial high starting to wear down a little to be replaced by a flood of calm. The hunter knew she would come; she didn’t seem like the type to forfeit a rank so easily, and besides, after the first challenge someone had issued her some previous months ago – or so he’d heard; rumours spread fast - it only made sense for her to accept this one as well. Head bowed slightly, pink hair spilling out across his forehead and balled fists shoved into the pockets of his jeans, he didn’t strike a particularly imposing image upon first glance. But as she appeared over the hill, he straightened up and let his hands fall to his sides, more for his own benefit than her own since she wouldn’t have been able to see it anyhow.
Py couldn’t quite help the involuntary shiver that crept up his spine as his name was pronounced in such a manner; it was rather creepy, as it were. But a familiar, feral grin slid onto his face, teeth bared to match her own expression, and for all appearances he seemed unfazed by her mannerisms. He took a few steps closely, treading lightly on the soft ground. “And how nice of you to join me, Seija,” he paused with a tilt of his head, then muttered, “Lovely weather we’re having, for a change.” All the while he sized her up, eyes roving; she was small, almost petite, but he was wary. The other one to challenge her had also been a man, and he had lost. So how had she won? He chewed at his lip thoughtfully, and then shrugged; girl or no, he wasn’t going to play fairly, and he doubted she would either.
“And really, you know, this is nothing personal.” he said, voice decidedly cheery as he began to close the distance between them. He snarled then, and with a shudder, he dropped into a crouch, only to be replaced a moment later by a much larger and much more muscular - not to mention a great deal more imposing - figure. The noises from the crowds of people clamouring behind the wall were only dimly noted, so focused he was on what he was doing. With no more warning then a brief huff of breath, he reared up to his full height as a bear, and wound his foreleg back, then brought it forwards and down again, intent on letting his paw collide hard with the side of her head. He knew from prior testing experience that it hurt. A lot. Plus, it was a great way to throw them off balance, if it worked.

She giggled, high and low echoing eerily across the field as she stood and felt him, listened to his vocal tenors that drifted across the area that they stood in. She flexed her hands, the muscles in her arms tensing and relaxing with each moment, though on the outside she looked as if to have no muscle mass at all.
"And really, you know, this is nothing personal..."
"Mmmmmnnnnn, no no ... nothing personal," she mused out loud although her voice held a slight edge to it. They all wanted power, and they all think they could just walk over the small girl just because of that fact; she was female. Teeth shown as she grinned wide, shifting from foot to foot as he came forward as she felt his mass gain three-fold as she watched, the growl and huff of his breath pinpointing him before she felt the shadow of his mass and the wind before his blow as she quickly braced her legs and pulled up her arms before she felt the solid mass collide with her flesh. She felt the swipe of his claw against her skin, irritated flesh rising no doubt as she felt her core shudder, taking a lot of the blow into her arms before she felt her legs give as she tumbled backwards into two somersaults, stopping herself haphazardly against a rock. The breaths came quick, her chest heaving and burning as her arms felt like jello; shaking them awake her fingertips grazed the irritated flesh of her arm, the skin breaking under the subtle pressure as she growled low. Attempting to move her arms above her head was impossible without pain lancing through them, probably from so much strain; though she thanked her inner strength because without it at least one arm would've become dislocated or even worse, broken.
She moved around him quickly, running towards the large bears side as she then jumped, grabbing his fur as she propelled herself over his midsection and spun; aiming a blow with her enhanced strength towards the side of the others skull.
