Isamu and Keiko Koizumi ________________________________ The family that plays together
A huge smile lit Isamu's face as Delilah hugged the monkey shifter back in their sweet embrace. It was nice to be able to be here with all of their friends and family and find a way to be able to connect more with one another. It seemed that now with the hardship of losing the alliance and the taking of the Oasis, that people had begun to stay within themselves to suppress their problems and emotions. Hopefully tonight will be the night where everyone can get together and show each other that, despite the fact that everything seemed to be getting worse, no one had to go through this alone. Everyone was family here, and there was always a person that they could relate to, that could help them in their journey in the Menagerie. That was why Isamu had Delilah had a friend, because she was always there for Isamu when the monkey shifter really needed her. So, it was a joy to know that Delilah was at the festival, that way the two women could spend some real quality time together while also spending time with anyone else who might need them.
As Skye became frigid at Keiko's warm greeting, Isamu couldn't help but let her smile waver for a moment. The scout had almost forgotten how stiff her Alpha got around children, and though Isamu didn't know why, she never did pester Skye about it since it's was her own secret to be kept. Isamu knew what that was like. So, Isamu let it slip from her mind, respecting her Alpha's personal emotions, and concentrated on what Skye said next to her apology. “Arigato, Skye-dono,” Isamu thanked with a chirp, “Though, Keiko can worry me sometimes.” Her bright green eyes focused on her daughter for a moment, watching the young girl as she skipped over to two other Fallen youth. Isamu couldn't be to careful with Keiko for, despite her innocent nature, Keiko seemed to attract trouble where ever she went; it had always had Isamu concerned. But, at least Keiko was safe here. Isamu's attention quickly shifted back to Skye as she suggested that Isamu help Delilah with the food. “Yoi, sounds like a plan!” There was a certain child-like excitement that filled Isamu's voice at the mere concept of being able to be some sort of assistance to the bonfire; Isamu wanted nothing more than to be able to help out her Ring as much as possible. Plus, handing out food to everyone was a sure-fire way to meet some new Fallen members.
However, just as Isamu was about to head off in Delilah's direction, Adelina had finally arrived to the little Fallen get together. Ever since Isamu's good friend Bonifacio gave Isamu his young daughter to keep safe in the Fallen Ring, Isamu had the pleasure of raising Adelina together with Delilah. The young hunter was Isamu's adoptive daughter in a sense, and Isamu had even raised Adelina with Keiko as if the two young girls were siblings. Therefore, one could imagine the heart attack Isamu had when her "daughter" walked into camp with blood and gore covering her long dress and tan skin. “A-A-Adelina-chan!” Isamu cried as she quickly stumbled to the young girl. Without so much as a second thought, Isamu clasped both hands on Adelina's shoulders and gave the hunter a baffled look. “What happened to you? A-Are you okay? Please tell me you didn't get into another fight?” One would think that after being there Adelina's entire life, Isamu would be used to the young teenager looking like this (Adelina got herself into her fair share of trouble.) However, that was not the case. Isamu always got worried when Adelina came home with bruises and cuts; it wasn't good for Adelina to be so hurt all the time, not in this place. The scout would have offered to heal Adelina herself, but, unlike Delilah, Isamu hadn't gotten much practice with her healing abilities and probably wouldn't be as much help to the girl. So, after Adelina finally convinced Isamu that she was okay, the scout let the child slip from her shaky grasp.
Isamu's mood brightened up, however, as a little while later Adelina was kissing her boyfriend. With a giggle of her own, Isamu quietly trotted up to the pair and ruffled Adelina's hair before lowering herself eye-level to the teenagers. “Now, now behave you two, this might not be the best time for such things,” Isamu whispered to them before winking at Adelina, “Anata ga kibô sureba, anata wa ressha,-sha ni modotte anata no bôifurendo ni kisu o suru koto ga dekimasu.” You can make-out your boyfriend back in the train-car, if you so desire. Isamu smiled a big smile at the two, before putting a hand on Adison's shoulder. “I'm glad you were able to make it Adison-kun,” she told the young boy softly but cheerfully. Isamu had meet the Carna once before with Adelina, though it hadn't been to hard to tell that he had a very close relationship with the wolf shifter. She could tell, just from the way Adison looked at Adelina how much he cared for her, and Isamu was just happy that Adelina had found someone like that, Carna or not. With another smile, Isamu quickly hugged Adison and then ruffled his hair as well. “Welcome to the Fallen Ring!” she chirped at him before skipping off to help Delilah hand out the food to everyone.
Once Isamu, Delilah and Adelina were done passing out the grub, Isamu quickly grabbed some fresh fruits from the table and joined Delilah by the fire. Isamu had never been into eating meat; she had been a vegetarian before the menagerie and, after all this time, she was still a vegetarian. It was something that Isamu had vowed to herself that she would not give up, one thing of her past life that wasn't so bad and that she could cling to. The only time she ever broke her all vegetable diet was when she was pregnant with Keiko and Xavior and Isamu's friends had forced her to eat meat to keep the fetus healthy. The awful taste still lingered in her mouth to this day. Yet, Isamu didn't judge what other people ate, Isamu just knew she didn't plan on eating any more meat anytime soon. The scout was quickly distracted by her thoughts and her fruit munching, however, as Delilah began to speak. “Hai, it is wonderful!” Isamu agreed joyfully, “It's always nice for everyone to get together and just spend some time with each other.” At the word "music," Isamu's face lit up. “Watashi wa, migi ka?” ” I know, right? Isamu gleed, “Adding music would make this festival ten times better. We could even dance around the fire, too!” The mere thought of getting out some make-shift instruments and adding some beautiful melodies to the bonfire made Isamu’s heart flutter with excitement. The young woman always did love her music and dance. Isamu nodded at Delilah’s next comment. “Still that sounds like lots of fun,” she replied, “Even with a small amount of people, I’m sure it was still a grand time!” Not that Isamu would really know since the first time she ever went “camping” of sorts was her first night in the Menagerie. The monkey shifter's parents had never trusted the directionally challenged girl in the dark, creepy woods all by her lonesome. However, Isamu's cheery mood was dampened as Delilah tried to get Adelina to let her heal the young hunter’s wounds. “I think it would be a good idea to let Delilah do it,” Isamu agreed with concern lacing her voice, “If you don’t, those wounds could get infected.” Isamu only hoped that Adelina wouldn’t be stubborn and not let their medic friend heal her.
A smile equally bright as her mother’s graced Keiko’s round face as the girl with the black hair addressed her. “Indeed,” Keiko chirped back, “Plus, when you give a hundred percent, you will always succeed!” The young deer shifter nodded her head at the response and went on with her basket weaving. Though it seemed like no matter how many times Keiko tried to copy the movements of the other two girl’s fingers, the basket just never seemed to turn out like theirs or any of the other Fallen members' who were also weaving baskets. With a small pout, Keiko stared down in shame at the little mess of grass that hung limply between her small fingers. Why couldn’t she get this right? Keiko peered over to the other two girls to see how their baskets were doing. The girl with the brown hair seemed to have known how to makes baskets before, since her's seemed to magically come together on its own. However, the girl with the black hair seemed to be having as much trouble as Keiko was, albeit a little bit less trouble since black-haired girl's at least somewhat looked like how Keiko assumed the baskets should be. Yet, her observing were interrupted as Keiko felt something brush her back. It only took a few seconds for Keiko to smile and look over her shoulder to the face of her “older sister.” “Onee-sama!” Keiko called out gleefully, “I’m so glad you finally made it!” The young deer shifter quickly grabbed the grass in her lap and held it up so her sister could see. “Look, ‘nee-sama! I is basket weavin’!” A wide grin enlighten Keiko’s face, only seeking to gain the approval of her older sister. It was important to Keiko that she always pleased her friends and family. Keiko tried her best not to disappoint. Though, she couldn’t help to wonder why Adelina was covered in all those red berries again. It seemed to be happening a lot lately and the ridiculously innocent teenager old couldn’t help but wonder why Adelina never took her out berry gathering, too.
Keiko blinked in confusion as Laura leaned in close, shushed her, and look worriedly over her shoulder. Did Keiko say something wrong? Concern washed over Keiko for moment before Laura began to talk about making the grass necklaces a secret. At the idea Keiko smiled and giggled with excitement. “That sounds like a great idea!” Keiko replied loudly, but she then covered her own mouth, quickly realizing that for it to be a secret no one else was supposed to know. Keiko giggled again before continuing, “Then people would be more happier ‘cause it would be spontaneous.” Surprises were always the best way to cheer some one up, after all. Though, at the bug comment, Keiko couldn’t help but frown a bit. “Awwww, I’m sure berries could work just fine, I don’t think those poor little bugs would want to be made into dye.” It was something that Keiko had picked up from her peaceful parents, her dislike of killing anything that didn’t need to be killed. But, it didn’t take long for Keiko’s ever wandering mind to switch back into her cheerful mode. “Okie dokie, making baskets is fun, too!” Keiko smiled at the two girls again before taking the raven-headed girl's outstretched hand and shaking it joyously. With that decided, Keiko went back to trying her hand at basket weaving. Well, half trying since she kept stopping to hear some story a cute anthro lady was telling on the opposite side of the camp fire. Though, Keiko didn't really understand most of it, the story still sounded interesting. The young deer shifter always did like a good tale.
Keiko giggled with glee as her Mama, her Tia, and Adelina came around to pass out the food. It was like they had read the brown-haired girl's mind! The deer shifter smiled up at her family as her sister gave a her a plate with some meat and fruit on it. Of course Keiko knew that the fruit was from her mother, she was always trying to get Keiko to eat more than just plain meat during her meals. It had been an agreement between Mama and Papa that Keiko always had some meat and veggies with what she ate since Mama wanted Keiko to be a vegetarian and Papa didn't. Though, Keiko's thoughts were interrupted as the girl with the black hair asked Keiko and the brown-haired girl their names. “I already told you my name,” Keiko pointed out, very confused by the black-haired girl's mistake. It didn't take very long, though, for Keiko's confused expression to change into one of warm friendliness before adding: “But, it's okay, everyone forgets!” Keiko giggled a bit before continuing. “My name is Keiko--Keiko Perez-Koizumi. What are your girl's names?” The fifteen year old was beyond excited to be able to make some new friends so quickly. It was the wonders of everyone getting together and getting to know each other, she supposed. Yet, at the mention of tea, Keiko titled her head to the side in puzzlement. “What's a 'tea'?” Keiko asked, green eyes wide with curiosity. The young teenager was born into the Menagerie and never experienced much of the outside world and it's seemly infinite mysteries. So, she was never afraid to ask about something that she didn't know about that came from the world beyond the clear walls around the Menagerie (assuming, of course, this "tea" was from there at all.) Her question was quickly answered as a tall man with short hair head out a container filled with a sweet-smelling, brownish liquid. “Oh so that is tea,” Keiko mused allowed, automatically assuming that since the man called it tea, it must be tea. Keiko peered at the canister and looked at the liquid inside, labeling that as the tea since Keiko knew the object holding the tea was called "a jar." Keiko titled her head to the side again as a simple thought came to her head. “If that is the tea, then is the jar what we drink it out of?”
