Esperanza was starting to think a compass would be nice, if she knew how to read one but that was not the point. The girl was lost yet again, Espe had fully intended to memorize her path to the Fallen so that she could visit her cheery sister without taking a whole day to find her. That plan had obliviously failed, she thought with a small huff. Coal black eyes scanned the sandy landscape searching for any sort of landmark that might lead her to the monkey shifter she sought and upon finding nothing they orbs closed sheltering dark hues from the scorching sand. The poor anthro nearly cried out in frustration, it was hot and there was sand everywhere, it drove her mad! A scowl made it’s way to her face, why the heck did her sister choose to join a ring that lived in the middle of a god forsaken desert, a desert! Sometimes she had trouble understanding her half sister but it wasn’t like she could just give up and return to natural lands. Espe had promised to meet Isamu and for all her sullenness, she actually did like the Fallen girl and her little niece. The pair always brought a bit of sunshine into her muted corner of the world, though she could do with a tad less touching whenever she came to visit. One could only tolerate so many hugs in a period of five minutes and for pete’s sake what was with everyone wanting to touch her ears? They were not that freaking fluffy or were they, she mused idly fiddling with the white appendage. Espe deemed them soft but still not deserving of all the fuss she received, couldn’t they all just find a bunny and pet that instead? There were plenty of them lurking around if one was fast enough to catch them. It also seemed there were snakes lurking in the golden sand for Espe got a unpleasant surprise when one of the scaly beast slithered right over her ballet shoes with a low hiss. It was a good thing she was a calm person, otherwise she’d have kicked the creature right off her foot and risked it’s wrath later but instead she’d stayed stock still without batting an eyelash. Oh how she wished she was back in the park relaxing in the shade of a tree rather than in the scorching desert with a snake on her foot.
After what seemed like an eternity the reptile moved on leaving a slightly rattled Espe in it’s wake. Fearing that there could be more of the snakes considering it was spring, the season of love and all that junk, and most creatures would be mating or had already mated. Espe didn’t think well of her chances against a mother snake guarding it’s babies so with quickened steps she choose a direction and headed off to who knows where. It didn’t really seem like she was getting anywhere, all the horizon showed was sand and more sand and an oasis? Halting in her tracks, Espe stopped a moment to quell the tide of happiness that threatened to overwhelm her. The sparkling waters could easily be just a figment of her sun roasted mind, not real at all. Cynical as always, Espe made her way to the possible Oasis cautiously. In her heart she knew that if this beautiful place was not real, that she’d give up on this quest till night fell and the sun has not so demanding on her back. But as she kneeled at the water’s edge dipping a bandaged hand into the clear water, the illusion was proved to be real. A tiny laugh bubbled up from the brunette and she splashed the cool water on to her flushed face with a smile. Perhaps today might not be so bad, she mused with a happy grin.

Peter sighed heavily as his lithe body collapsed onto dead ground. He had gotten accustomed to the heat and was adjusted to it, but some days he fell to her wrath. He was out on what he called a walk, but what others would call patrol. Peter never did anything for pleasure; business as always. He had picked up on it some with the Adison getting through; he didn't want a repeat of that day. So you would see the outline form of the panther stalking around and often the man jumping from tree to tree. It seemed the cat was slowly bleeding into the man. That much was obvious, but what wasn't was what would their be in the end? A healthy mix of the man and beast, or would one side fall to the other. It was no question what side would win. He showed it now with his balance on foot, quick reflexes and always landing on his feet. He climbed on everything and was a great climber. It was simple instinct that he followed these days, but occasionally his human stupidity would rear up.
Black attracted the heat and Peter was a pale male who wore no black, but in shift he was nothing but black. And yet he still shifted and now he felt the suffocating effect of the fur that surrounded his body. He was cursing himself in his head and it was coming out as a growl. He was persistant thought and forced his aching and boiling muscles to push him up from that frying pan of a floor. He knew the territory like the back of his hand; he was Beta after-all. He knew there was an oasis near by and he was craving it. Cool water and giving into to cat instinct to just lounge at the side for a moment. His lazy stride was just that;lazy. Feet plopped in front of the other while sand paper tongue stuck out slightly.
Being a cat, Peter had excellent vision and it took him little time to view the other body there. His mind flashed back to the Carna intrusion and his eyes burned with rage. His body shifted back quickly to the tall and muscled man. His jaw was clenched and steps were powerful. Within reaching her he grabbed her forcefully by the shoulder and let a growl rip out from his chest. Upon turning her around he realized she was an Anthro and his anger lessened. But some were known to join the rings, so he wasn't convinced fully. He let go of her shoulder and placed his hands by his side. "Who are you? State your reason for being here,Anthro." His voice was as blunt as ever and just as demanding. The last bit was spoken more as a demand than a question and he followed it up with a snort.

A hand fell on her slender shoulder and she stiffened. She’d been caught it appeared and Espe had to restrain her urge to harshly shrug off the hand, she wasn’t on neutral lands after all, the people here had every right to harm her. Taking a deep breath she tried to find a rational answer to the man’s question without making it sound quite as argumentative as usual. Sadly she failed. “Better question, who died and made you king?” She huffed out before mentally face palming, sometimes she could be extremely idiotic. Still she might as well say constant with her mood otherwise she’d look shifty or at least more shifty than she already made herself appear after sneaking into another’s territory. She had to ask herself what exactly was wrong with using the park as a meeting place again, oh yes, viruses. Sighing she wondered if that might be a better fate than this, at least with a virus she could use her Emei Piercers to stop them in their tracks but no, when she was on Fallen land, she was as good as defenseless. If she harmed one of them then she’d be the one to suffer, nevermind who started it. “I mean that’s not the nicest way to greet people, you know. There’s a word called hello and you usually start with that.” Flicking away the mystery man’s hand, Espe got up from her kneeling position on the shore of the mini lake. She didn’t feel comfortable being at that much of a height disadvantage from such a hostile person, let alone a hostile Fallen. She hadn’t even considered the existence of such a creature, all the Fallen she’d met were cheerful unlike the man behind her that apparently had a stick shoved up his- Wait, she’d promised her sister that she’d play nice and even if the other couldn’t hear her thoughts, it was still technically rude to mentally insult the man without even knowing him.
“To answer your question/demand, I’m here to visit my sister who just happens to be in your ring. I’m sorry if that bothers you but I didn’t think it was safe to have her and her child running about the land when there are viruses out there.” Turning around to finally face the other, Espe crossed her slender arms in mild annoyance. It wasn’t like she could do anything to the man, she knew that for sure now that she could finally see him but this way she appeared strong …in will? “I’m sorry if being a caring sibling bothers you but you’ll just have to live with it for a bit.” With that she prodded the man’s chest with a bandaged finger before sliding around him, fully intending on heading off once again. The only problem was that she had no idea where she was going. Desert that way, desert this way, it all looked the same. Frowning the anthro girl stopped in her tracks but a few feet away from the waters. Espe shoved her hands into her pockets hesitating for a few seconds before returning to her prior spot. “Don’t laugh, I’ll admit it. I’m completely, utterly, and undeniably lost.”

Peters' brow raised nearly to his hairline as she swung around with a verbal assault, but he still let the growl slip. He didn't like being talked down to or talked at and it was a sign of restraint that he didn't pounce on her like he had done to Adison. Instead he crossed muscular arms over his chest and snorted while he stared her down. "King; no. But Beta of the Fallen, so it gives me the great right to know who and why your here. And I don't need to greet you like a friend when you are not." Simply shrugging he took a step closer. Peter knew it was polite to say hello and all that bull that was considered nice, but Peter never declared himself as nice. In fact some even called him mean, but the truth was that Peter was just...cold! He was emotionally dead and was not one to show any emotions at all. Well...that wasn't completely true. Anger seemed to be an emotion that Peter felt and often showed. Now he was merely annoyed.
With her poke in the chest hazel eyes flashed to a wicked yellow. Peter had thing about space and she was currently pushing it! He wanted to snap her hand off at the risk or twist it all the way around. When irritated Peter tended to be a violent person."Leave my members to me Anthro. And if they leave the safety of my ring than it is their own fault. Now I suggest you cut the attitude before I cut it for you!" There was no yelling, but the end was said as he meant it was final and he even growled some. He had never slipped so easily, but when being touched he just snapped. As she went to leave Peter closed his eyes and tried to calm down. It was working until she began to talk again. On the inside he was laughing, but on the outside he merely turned with a blank face."I miss how this is my problem?"

For a few tense seconds she was scared and Espe was rarely sacred, nervous yes and annoyed quite frequently but never frightened. She didn’t want to be lost out in the desert! It was hot and sandy, making the worse weather combination Espe had ever had the trouble of enduring. The heat made her sweat beneath her heavy clothes and in the few places where her tan skin showed through the wind tossed sand clung to the damp flesh. She dreaded the chore of brushing the grainy stuff off and worse yet, getting the sand out of her clothes. Despite the fact her mutations weren’t very bad, she still loathed to take off her sweater and face the fact that those stupid keepers had used the science she so loved to turn her from a normal teen into…into a freak. So with this all in mind, Espe couldn’t blame herself for fearing being left alone to wonder the desert. There was also the added risk of heat stroke or even a snake to add to her worries, though the only person in sight was not much of a better alternative. The man who claimed to be Beta, it’s not like he’d shown her proof or anything, was turning out to be a royal jerk. He could at least pretend to be nice to newcomers, how did anybody want to join the Fallen ranks with this man running about and being hostile to everything with a pulse?
Shaking her head just slightly and crossing her arms in resolution, Espe decided that dealing with the grouch was better than rotting in the desert till her niece found her. She didn’t think Isamu would appreciate her child being traumatized for the rest of her life. Turning to the man with something between a smile and scowl, she tried to be somewhat more friendly. “It’s your problem because….because” She paused for a moment, there wasn’t a real reason for the man to help her. Biting her lips slightly and looking down sheepishly, she tried to look her best like a damsel in distress, most men fell for that act easily. “Because no reason? You might just be compelled to help me out of the goodness of your heart?” She tried to smile sweetly but it felt forced and so with a small sigh, she gave up. Espe hated when people were fake with her, so why was she putting on an act for the man before? It was being hypocritical.
Digging her heels into the sand like that could possibly give her some sort of backing, she tried a different approach. “Never mind, I highly doubt you have a kind bone in your body.” She sighed glancing about for any sort of savior that might randomly appear on the horizon like in the fiction books she used to read to her brothers. Her fear made her feel so childish.“Still I’d be grateful for your help, I really do need it.” Returning her gaze to the man she raised her hands in defeat, praying to god that somehow the man would guide her despite the fact that she doubted they’d ever get along. Hope still made her linger by the supposed Beta but that hope was faint and already her feet rocked back and forth waiting to leave. “Come on. Please?”Trying not to sound whiny, Espe stared almost desperately at the man. A night alone in the desert would be too much for her. She just hoped that she wouldn’t be reduced to begging.

He eyed her as she went from talking him down to nearly begging him to help her. How Peter hated it when others begged because if he left someone like that he was no better than the Carna; which he still didn't have friendly feelings for truce be damned. But as he watched his brow raised while she tried to give him some type of reason why he should care and take this on as his problem. His lips twitched slightly as she stumbled over hers words for an answer and in return he crossed his arms over his chest with a smug expression on his face. Everyday his emotional facade of having none was faltering more and more. He didn't like to show emotion because he truly believed it was a weakness. Call it part of his Russian personality, because they were not too friendly of a people. But when she mentioned him doing it out of the goodness of his heart it all fell apart. His entire body shook with his laughter and an actual smile dawned his face. He was not a heartless man who would just be indifferent to the pleas of others, but how he was referred to at times made it seem as such, so for her not to know and ask him something like this just sent him laughing. The goodness of my heart, hmm? Haven't you heard? It's as hard as stone apparently. His laughter stopped as quick as it came, but there was still a slight smirk on his face.
Again he watched her and listened to her plea's. He sighed heavily and stuck out his arms in a motion for her to just stop. "Fine, fine! I will help you if you stop that pleading and whining. He sighed heavily and almost sounded put out. He didn't like others begging,so it was somewhat a weak spot for him. He let his head drop some before looking at her through his lashes. Come on then, the faster I get this done the faster I won't be quilted into anything else by you.
