[/i] Crunch. Crunch. Crunch. Her footsteps seem to get increasingly louder as she kept walking. Bree felt somewhat uncomfortable walking around outside CarnaRing territory. She didn't like it at all. She didn't like feeling unsafe. Inside the Carna, she felt at ease, at home - as strange as it sounded. She was on the look out for new herbs and plants she could bring back to concoct a medicine. She knew she probably wouldn't find anything, but she wanted to look anyway, just to make sure. If not - well, she could just wander for a while. That wasn't so bad... was it? Her senses were screaming at her to go back home, where she knew. She hardly ever wandered out of CarnaRing territory, and yet, here she was.
Her bright orange-red hair blew in a strong breeze, and Bree lifted a hand to brush it out of her eyes. As she did this, she saw something. A line of knitted black fence stretched along in front of her, as far as she could see. She narrowed her eyes to behind it, and saw a big shrub of yellow-pink leaves. They looked very different from anything she had seen. Long strands of pink ran across a lemon-yellow surface. It might have some medical value... She mused, thinking of her Ring only. If she could concoct something with a new medicine, she might even save lives! The thought excited the young woman, and with that, she wandered closer to the fence, looking for a way around. There was none, as she soon found out, the fence ran as far as she could see, and she didn't fancy wandering even further away from her territory.
Looking closely, she saw a small gap in the bottom of the fence, bigger than the rest of the holes, a few holes from the ground. She weighed it up in her mind. There was a chance she could most probably squeeze through that in her red squirrel form. So, not even thinking twice about it, she shifted, trotting closer to the fence, thick bushy tail held inquisitively in the air. She scrambled up the first few holes and began to squeeze herself through it. It was then she realised that she was completely stuck. She was stuck, her ribcage the victim of the cruel black wire. She couldn't move her body, just her legs, tail and head. Shit.
She had been there for about an hour now, and had given up hope. She lay there limp, her ribs feelings like they could turn to jumbled china with the constant squeezing. Then she heard a noise behind her. It sounded like a massive cat. She peered round her shoulder with small black eyes, a fear beginning to build deep inside her, a terrible fear. The thing was black, had fur covering it all over, with deep black eyes that reminded her of a hole buried deep in the ground. Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god. She was so scared, the massive beast creeping closer. She was stuck and there was no way out. She squeezed her eyes shut, abandoning any shread of hope that was left. She could hardly breathe anyway - she just hoped it was quick. She could hear it getting closer, could practically feel its warm, rabid breath on her fur. Her heart beat quickened with every step it took closer to her.

It was a bad idea to stray from his tribe, but that was typical for Toronja. He never exactly had a good idea in his whole life, except for embracing his ability to shift. But...then again, he wouldn’t have been stuck in this Christmas globe place everyone calls Hell if he had never learned that side of him. But Toronja was a curious being at heart and investigating all of his surroundings and sticking his nose—or beak, to be specific—was what he did best.
The smell of moisture and mold filed it’s way past Toronja’s nostrils and into his lungs as he flew through the air, making quick gestures with his wings just to keep him off the ground. Because of his small size, he was rarely taken notice by others when he passed by which came in handy when you were trespassing someone else’s territory.
Nothing had caught his interest in this place. In fact, this place depressed him. All he smelt was death and his surroundings seemed rather dull and lifeless to him. He landed on top of a fence and ruffled his feathers, capturing pockets of air to ventilate his body while he rested his wings. It looked like it was a trip that had been wasted. He felt disappointed thinking that his time could have been spent somewhere else.
Then he peered down and cocked his tiny black head to one side. His even darker eyes fixed on the intense colour of red below him. What was that? He thought, letting out a curious chirp as he bounced from side to side to get a better fur. He smelt Shifter from here and knew that was all he needed to know to disappear, but he couldn’t tear himself away. That pelt just laying still in it’s spot, as if completely lifeless but beautiful to him. He’d never seen such an intense colour of red before and wanted to take a better look.
He thought about shifting and being able to touch them, but then grew disappointed at the thought. His human eyes were practically colour blind compared to his native form. There would be no point in shifting if he couldn’t see that fiery colour he enjoyed so much.
A yowl was heard and Toronja immediately narrowed his eyes towards the direction. There he saw a large cat—or at least large in this form, prowling through the grass towards his red bushy tail fascination. They licked their lips hungrily as their eyes grew black with concentration. Toronja’s feathers ruffled out again. He had seen them first! They were his! He didn’t want some pesky cat damaging their fur and staining it.
Diving down, he made a swipe over the cat’s head with his feet, just scraping it’s forehead to catch his attention. He had lived a life of bugging others and feeding off of their blood and was quite use to being swatted at. In fact, he had learned quick to avoid it. The cat yowled again in anger as he flew over their head and dived around, pecking at their shoulder blades and back legs to catch their attention. He wanted them gone for good and he knew exactly how to get what he wanted.
Without hesitation, he flew directly into the feline’s face and stabbed his long, sharp beak into one of their eyes. A hiss was made as Toronja felt the blunt force of their paw swat them to the ground. The wind flew out of his lungs as he looked up weakly to see the cat sprinting off in the opposite direction. The smell of their blood surrounded him as the earth absorbed it into the soil. He jumped swiftly to his feet and gave a shake of his feathers to clean the dirt of them. When he turned, he looked to see one of of the fuzzy red creature he had been watching from above. His movements were short and quick as he jumped closer to the Shifter and curiously looked at them.
It seemed best to shift at this point. In one quick moment, he seemed incredibly large to the world and was now peering back down at the Shifter rather than up to see they have been stuck in the fence. He smiled widely, snickering to himself as he laced one of hands with the fence before pulling at the tail of the Shifter. He was surprised how soft it was between his naked hands and had to hold his hand against his side before touching it again.
“Are you stuck?” He finally said, a large boyish grin plastered on his face as his eyes glimmered with amusement. Their coat seemed so dull compared to the colour he had seen in his bird form, but it was still vibrant compared to other things. He touched them again with both hands this time, curiously squishing their tiny paw backs between his thumb and index fingers. “Do you need any help getting out?” This time he sounded more insecure, like he wasn’t sure if they wanted to be trapped between a fence for easy prey or not. It seemed stupid if they did, but everyone was different.

[/i] Her dark orbs shot open as she heard a change in the noises around her. The heavy, gliding steps of the massive cat subsided for a moment, before a new sound was heard. A quick fluttering of wings and a sharp yowl from the cat. Bree twisted her head around as much as she could to get a better look. A small bird darted around like a bullet, scratching and pecking at the massive creature. A small gasp escaped her tiny mouth, a strange prickle ran up her spine and caused her flame-red fur to stand on end. She couldn't believe the bravery of the small being, and how it flitted about with the courage of a whole Ring.
She could tell though, by watching its movements, that it wasn't a Shifter. She could tell by how it moved and how it menouvered itself through the air so skillfully that it was a Retromorph. The cat fled, yowling loudly. Another shudder rippled through Bree's body. That had been extremely close - much too close for her liking. However, this didn't change the fact that she was still stuck tight in the fence. Maybe this Retro could help her out?
And then suddenly, the small bird disappeared to be replaced with a much taller young man. She tilted her head as much as she could, looking up at the Retro boy with big black eyes. These eyes widened considerably when she felt a hand tugging at her tail. She watched him snicker. If she was in her human form, she would be beetroot-red with embarrassment by now. She ducked her head, shame smothering her senses. She felt like a complete idiot. Fancy getting stuck in a bloody fence?
Finally, the unavoidable question came to the boy's lips. She nodded in response, far to embarrassed to even speak. She hated the grin that spread across his features. He was mocking her - it made her feel so idiotic. So vunerable and helpless. "Uh... that would be good." She grinned sheepishly, tail twitching as her ribs continued to be squeezed to pieces. She paused, before adding, a small cough accompanying, "....Thanks."

He blinked and then gave a wide grin seeing her tiny head lift up and then down. What is she doing? He thought, not understanding that she was giving him the go ahead. Instead he just continued to twirl her soft tail between his fingers, captivated by the feel of it against his naked hands. Her body felt rigid between his fingers, which made him react by becoming more cautious and gentle with his touches. He watched her carefully until she spoke and then gave her another grin.
Letting go of her, he managed to wedge his fingers between the metal fence and bit his lip in concentration as he slowly began to peel back the hole she wedged herself into. When he managed to get it big enough, he trapped her end with one of his fingers, signalling her to go and then he let the hole return back to its original size once she was out.
She was on the other side of the fence now so he looked up and shifted, flying over the fence before shifting again so that he was human. He was still chuckling to himself, finding her very funny. “How’d you get yourself stuck in that hole? You must have been trying really hard to do it!” He said, sounding much like a child by the way he obliviously asked her that. Of course she hadn’t purposely gotten her stuck, but Toronja was too busy thinking of reasons why she would want to do that.
He glanced over to the other side of the fence where the cat came from and made a face. “I don’t think that cat will be bothering you for a very long time. I made sure of it! ” Stupid cat. He never liked cats, nor did he have a reason to like one. They were vicious, sadistic beasts that just loved to destroy anything beautiful, including a red pelt.
His attention had now drifted from both subjects when he turned to look at her again, still fascinated by her colour and what she was. She seemed almost mythical to him and something he didn’t know how to exactly react to. Even her scent was weird, though he was familiar with it. He wanted to know everything about her now.
Plopping down onto the ground cross legged, he grabbed his knees and squeezed them while looking at her with twinkling eyes. “You’re a Shapeshifter, aren’t you? I’ve never been so close to one before, or touched one, or saved one! Do you all have red fur? Do you all like to get stuck in fences?” He was curious, but knew he had to limit how many questions he asked. Everyone always told him he talked too much and asked too many questions. Was he overwhelming her? He hoped not. That wouldn’t be a great way to become friends with her.

[/i] Bree didn't quite think the other being understood what she was saying very well. She supposed that he was mostly an animal. He thought like an animal. Simply, like an animal. Retros really interested her, actually. He started touching her tail again. Bree didn't really know what to do about it - of course, it didn't bother her much - this was a man who knew nothing about what was comfortable and what wasn't - but then, nothing really bothered her too much anyway. Though her body still froze up a little from the touch.
Finally, he seemed to understand what she was asking of him, and so he stretched the fence so she could get through to the other side. She hopped onto the ground. The strange looking leaves that could have been of medical value had completely vanished from her mind after the recent events, and the squirrel watched as the bird fluttered over the fence and landed next to her, the boy replacing it once again.
She watched him chuckling, understanding why. She was still extremely embarrassed, and wrapped her tail around herself self-consciously. At his question, she had to smile a little. Maybe she should shift. After all, he was in his human form, too. It would only seem right. But she didn't feel too comfortable yet. While thinking of a suitable answer to give, she suddenly remembered why she had actually been stuck there. She turned, spotting the curious-coloured leaves and rushing over, crouching down and plucking at one or two with her teeth. "I was trying to reach these." She explained to him, showing him the leaves before setting them on the ground, planning to put them in her pocket when she turned into her human form.
At his next statement, Bree smiled. "You sure did. Thank you, very much. I would be dead if it wasn't for you." She watched him closely, trying as hard as she could to make him understand how extremely grateful she was. She watched as he looked at her again. She got the vibe that he really liked her fur. She watched as he appeared to think, and then when he sat down, cross legged, looking at her intently.
At his next string of questions, Bree had to laugh. It was very funny that he would think that all Shifters would get stuck in fences. She decided it was time to shift. And so she did, red squirrel to be replaced with a slender, pale-skinned woman with flame-red hair. She joined him cross legged on the floor, facing him for what she thought would become an extremely interesting conversation. "I am a Shapeshifter, yes." She grinned, still chuckling. "No, we don't all have red fur, or get stuck in fences. That's just me, I guess. I don't think sometimes." At his statement about never having touched, saved or been this close to a Shifter, she nodded. "Are you a... a Retromorph? I've never come across one of your kind." She paused. "What's your name?"
ooc; Bree doesn't mind questions! :3 it's all good! c:

He watched her tail curl around her red body as she looked up at him. His hands laid flat against the grass as he leaned down to reach her eye level. He lifted his head curiously and turned it to the side, just catching her as she zipped away from his site and stopped in front of an interesting looking plant. He blinked frequently in confusion as she tore them from their roots and showed them to him before laying them on the ground.
“Why? ”
No matter how hard he tried to wrap his brain around the idea, he couldn’t understand. Why would she want the plants? Was she going to eat them? Why wouldn’t she just eat them now? All his questions desperately wanted to be asked, but he kept them to himself and hoped his first one would answer all of his curiosities about the plant. His dark eyes flickered back and forth with confusion hearing her laugh. What was so funny?
Her sudden change and shape almost had him instinctively shifting into his own native form and flying far, far away from her. He hadn’t expected her to change into something else for some odd reason, even though he knew she was a Shifter. Instead, he leaned back and straightened himself so that he was no longer leaning over to look down at her. Now it appeared all he had to do was look straight ahead to see her.
Hair just as red as her animal form, the Shifter appeared just as strikingly beautiful as she had before. He bared a pearly white grin as she sat cross legged in front of him, mirroring his pose. He was right, she was a Shifter. Finding out they all didn’t do that, he seemed somewhat relieved. It’d be disappointing to find out their competition were a bunch of clumsy mammals who got stuck all the time. He didn’t think any of his fellow Retros would help them out like he had done. “I bet you’re the prettiest Shifter out there then, ” He said innocently. Though he hadn’t seen many, he sounded rather certain with his statement.
Like a dog, his head tilted from the side as he gave her a puzzled expression. What’s a Retromorph? He asked himself. He had heard the word before, but from where? Then it hit him and he realized he was one of those things the humans liked to call them and so did the Shifters, apparently. “Mhmm! Mhmm! I’m one of those things! ” He bobbed his head eagerly and then added, “Toronja! My parents said it was a fruit—I think, ” He scratched his head while looking up and then back at her.
“What’s yours? ”

[/i] Bree smiled as the boy confusedly asked her why she wanted the leaves. She opened her mouth a few times to answer him, but kept stopping herself in case she started sounded like an idiot to him. After all, he probably knew nothing to do with the Rings, let alone the ranks within them. She opened her mouth again, and then said, "Have you heard of the Rings of Shapeshifters?" She hoped he had, because that would make it quite a lot easier to explain. "Lets just say I'm looking for new cures for people in my Ring if they get ill. These leaves could have a medical value." She tried not to make it too complicated for him.
Bree noticed the quick flash of uneasyness when she shifted in his eyes. She wasn't sure if she should've shifted, but felt like the man who saved her life should know what she looked like as a human - she had seen him in both his forms, after all. She watched him as he straightened his back to sit up and look at her, calm returning to his face. When he grinned at her, she couldn't help but grin back.
She liked this guy - his smile was contagious. Anybody that smiled through everything was put immedietely in Bree's good books. Even if this young man was already in her good books because, obviously, he saved her life - but the way he grinned so much and how he was very curious got her attention. She liked how he asked so many questions - she welcomed it. She liked the fact that she would give him new knowledge. She had only just met him, but he made her feel happy. Well, if her usual happy self could get much happier, that was.
At his next statement, she couldn't help a smile crawling up to her lips and settling there. A small giggle escaped from her mouth, and she felt her cheeks warm. That was sweet of him. "Far from it," She giggled. "But... thanks anyway." She couldn't remember ever being called pretty, especially not by a non-Shifter. Though she had never really been this close to a non-Shifter before.
She chuckled as he appeared deep in thought and then suddenly realised what he was, stating his name as well. "Toronja." She repeated, smiling. "I like it. Very unique. And... i've never heard of a fruit like that... but if you're parents said that, then there probably is." As he asked for her name, she smiled again. "My name's Bree. Bree Pryar. It's lovely to meet you."
Toronja seemed like a really lovely person to have around. "So, any more questions you want to ask me?" She asked him - she could tell that he did.

His expressions turned from one extreme to the other in just a few words that were spoken from the Shapeshifter. One minute he was smilingly playfully at her, almost bouncing in his seat with so much energy and then the next his eyebrows were arched, head was tilted and eyes were blank, filled with so much confusion. That was the case here when she mentioned the Rings, which was what the Shifters preferred to call themselves, or so his fellow Lawaii had told him.
He nodded almost hesitantly, rubbing the palms of his hands with his thumbs as he looked at her. What did the Rings have to do with plants? Still, he didn't open his mouth. Surprisingly, he was acting rather mature and patient around the Shifter, perhaps even being cautious around her. She had been the first Shifter he had ever talked to. He didn't know why, but he wanted to make a good impression on her. He wanted her to like him. It didn't sound like a bad idea to him, especially if he ever needed a Shifter's help.
Hands curled into balls, he leaned forward and eyed the plants in her hands. They could cure illness? The idea seemed fascinating to him and he wanted to know more about it. His nostrils flared as he took in a breath of air, catching the scent of the plants. He knew a little bit about plants, but nothing about how to use them to cure people.
"How do you know if they have value?" He asked her, tearing his gaze away from the plants to look at her.
The sound she made was different. He hadn't heard that sound come from anyone's throat before and he wondered what it meant. It sounded like a trill, but less vocal and more throaty. It was high-pitched too, but then again her voice was high in general so that could have meant nothing. He straighten his back and looked at her, head tilted with a playful grin. It didn't sound threatening to him and that seemed to mean the most to him.
"Far?" He repeated, eyes narrowing. "That's not true at all!" He was stubborn when it came to his opinion. That is, when he had an opinion to make and not much could change it. He had already deemed her as the most beautiful Shifter around and her modesty wasn't going to change his mind anytime soon.
This time he was the one exchanging shy glances at her when she said she liked his name. His insides burned with joy and relief that she liked it. It had felt like it was one more step to making a good impression on her. "I've never seen the fruit before in my life. I don't think they ever saw the fruit before either." There was a twinge of sadness in his voice. He yearned to see his parents again, to know they were safe. He felt guilty sometimes knowing he was in this place which was as free as he had ever been while they were still at some breeding farm, creating more finches like him as exotic pets.
The thought was gone. He had forgotten already what he was thinking about when she spoke. Humour glimmered in his eyes and a grin appeared again, looking much wider and brighter than it ever had before. "Bree?" What a weird name! He laughed a little and then covered his mouth, giving her a sheepish expression. "That's an odd name. Is that a fruit too?"
He pulled himself up while he spoke and brushed himself off, mimicking what he had once saw a Shifter do when they had sat on the ground, though he wasn't sure why they did it. He nodded eagerly at her and grabbed her arms, pulling her up as he looked at the spot she had pulled the plant from. "Teach me about the plants! I want to know what they do!"

[/i] Bree noticed the puzzled expression on Toronja's face, noticed the sudden change of mood that he expressed. "Are you confused?" She asked, a smile lighting up her features, even though the answer to her question was blatantly obvious. She watched him carefully as he leaned over her to look at the fragile plants in her hands. At his next question she thought. She bit her lip, knowing that she didn't even know if she did. She might have got stuck in that bloody fence for no reason. At this thought she grimaced. But, she had never seen leaves so vibrant as these, so they could have some medical value. But then, again, they could not. Or they could poison.
"I don't," She informed him of her thoughts quickly. "But i've never seen them before - they could have some life saving value for all I know. And I'm always looking out for new ways of helping my Ring. I can be a little over-obsessive with my job." She hoped he was taking this in, because she had a feeling that he really was very confused at her words.
Bree liked the grin that enlightened his features. It made her feel light, and made her feel like she was a care-free child again. Toronja brought back that side of her. She shrugged as he argued his case, a smile twitching on her lips. She knew she wasn't the most beautiful Shifter out there, but she guessed Toronja had never been this close to a Shifter ever before, so she got his point. At his next words, she caught the wisp of sadness travelling through them, and looked at him curiously. She was about to ask him if he was okay when he perked up again.
Bree found it very entertaining how quickly his mood would change. She also found it entertaining how he asked if she was named after a fruit, too. She giggled again. "Not all people are named after fruits, y'know." She looked up at him with a fond look, for now he was standing over her. She felt herself be pulled from the ground, and found herself face to face with a very enthusiastic looking Toronja.
"In my Ring, i'm known as a Medic. I care for everyone in my whole Ring - well, not just me. There are others." She watched out for any signs that he may be lost and confused. "We're always on the lookout for new things we can use for remedies - this plant looked really different from anything I have ever seen, so I was desperate to bring it back to my Ring and find out." She caught his gaze, smiling. "I really want to make a difference." She rolled the leaves between her fingers. "But knowing my luck, they will probably be poison or something."

He laughed again when she said she was obsessive with her job. He had heard that word many times before. In fact, a lot of people said he could get obsessive over things—though he didn’t know exactly what he meant by that. He didn’t see himself as being over obsessive, but then again he wasn’t 100% sure what the word meant.
Dark eyes flickering up at her, he looked at her for a few moments. His eyes traveled from her pale skin to her red hair and then her intense blue eyes. She reminded him of an exotic plant, one that was coloured to warn you to stay away from it but you couldn’t resist just being drawn closer to it’s beauty. “They’re not? ” He said, almost sounding devastated and then looked stumped. Bree, Bree, Bree... “Then what are they all named after? ” He couldn’t imagine what they would be named after if it wasn’t a fruit. Maybe a type of seed then? A tree? He was trapped in his thoughts until she spoke, bringing his attention back on her.
“So you’re a healer? ” He finally asked after thinking about it. They had those in his tribe too—but they didn’t call them medics. He gave a shake of his head and grabbed her hand that was playing with the leaves and looked at them. “I bet if we wish hard enough, they’ll be something good! ” He hoped they were something good for her sake and maybe if they were, he could go hunting for this plant himself and bring it back. The idea of being seen as a hero made Toronja feel all warm inside. Suddenly he wanted to find all kinds of plants that could be useful and began speed walking around, holding onto Bree’s hand like it was a leash and she was the dog.
“What else is good around here? ” He asked, his head bobbing back and forth along the ground for anything interesting to find. More thoughts began to stir inside of his head, some more curious then the others. “Do healers ever use poison to kill? ” He once heard that Shifters tainted their food supply once and had left a lot of them ill. Would Bree ever do such a thing? He wasn’t quite sure, but he still remained glued to her side like they were a pair of twins.

[/i] Bree watched as Toronja's dark eyes slid over her face. She took in their movements, and where they were looking. Her skin, her hair, her eyes. So while he did this, she observed him right back, taking in the dark orbs against the pale skin of the Retromorph. She really liked those eyes. In a way they were really beautiful. Bree had always wanted eyes like this - she didn't care much for her own, though the colour of the darkness that reminded her so much of deep underground caves always looked outstandingly lovely to her. "I really like your eyes." She commented. Then she realised she had actually said it aloud and covered her mouth with her hand, a small chuckle escaping.
At his next query she smiled. "They can be named after anything," She informed him. "Some are even just made up, not even based off anything at all." She was beginning to really, really enjoy Toronja's company.
"Yes. Yes, that's right. I'm a healer." She nodded enthusiastically. That would have been a more easy way of explaining it. She had to feel a fondness towards him when he studied the leaves and said that if they wished hard enough they could find a good use for it. It was really sweet that he seemed that he actually wanted to help her find cures for her Ring. She gave a small squeak of suprise as he pulled her up and along, dragging her around the area with a spring in his step. "Woah, Torrie! Where are we going?" She laughed. She looked around with him for any plants or other things that could be use for medical reasons. She couldn't really see anything though. She was just about to state that she couldn't see anything that would help, when he asked if poison was ever used.
Her face grew more serious as she looked at him. "I don't know." She frowned. "But personally... I would never dream of poisoning anything that would be given to someone else to consume. Even if they weren't in my Ring. That's just... not me." She concluded, watching Toronja carefully again.
ooc; teehee, that's okay! :3 sorry for the wait from me too >D <33333

As if on cue, his eyes sparkled brilliant at her comment and grew with joy. He tilted his head back and laughed loudly, covering his embarrassment and blush as he stumbled away from her. When he relaxed, he took in a few deep breaths and uncovered his smile which was hiding behind his hands and gleamed at her.
“I like your eyes more,” He said while a cheeky expression, as if challenging her to say any more about them. She gave him something to think about, though. He never really thought about his eyes human form or bird form and what opinion he had about them. To him, his eyes were just eyes and nothing else. The Retro like other Retros were not as concerned about their looks as the Shifters were about theirs. However, he did know something about beauty and what he thought was beautiful. Bree’s eyes and hair were the perfect examples; bright, bold and unique.
Though he knew he shouldn’t, he really liked the Shifter. She was kind and gentle and nothing like the stories he had heard about Shifters. He wished he could go back and tell his flock about her and how interesting—and a little reckless for getting stuck in a fence—she was, but deep down he knew he couldn’t. They would only frown upon him and perhaps ban him from flying near this land again.
“Hmm,” He chirped, stroking his chin. “That’s weird. Is yours made up?” It was interesting to find out she was a healer. In a way, he felt proud that he had befriended not only a shifter but a healer too. He wondered what kinds of things she did on a regular basis and how she did them. Shifters were a mystery to him and one he wanted to find out more about.
He carefully looked back hearing her let out a squeak, one that reminded him of the rodent he had found her as earlier. Hearing her laugh made him laugh as well and then he turned back and looked down to find out if he could spot anything that looked interesting. “We’re plant hunting for your Ring!” He told her and then glanced back, nearly forgetting what he said earlier until she mentioned poison. “Good.”
After some zigzagging through the field, he leaned his free hand against the tree and stopped for a moment before looking at Bree with another smile, figuring she might have been winded by him dragging her back and forth. When he leaned forward to stretched, he paused and noticed mushroom tops growing along the trees base before ripping them from the earth’s soil and turning to Bree. “What’re these? Can you eat them?” He asked, leaning his head down and sniffing them before offering them to Bree.
ooc; No problem >D Ahaha oh Tor, so clueless *facepalm* if only they were flowers XDD

[/i] ooc: SO sorry for the wait! D: forgiveeee meeeee! :c Bree noticed how his eyes sparkled as soon as the words had left her mouth. She didn't understand why he would laugh so loudly - but did understand, on the other hand, that she must have sounded ridiculous when she had said that out of the blue. So she laughed along with him, and when he hid behind his hands but she could still see the child-like smile, she couldn't help thinking how damn cute he looked. He looked like a child. Well, technically, she guessed he was only a few years old. But it was sweet. She giggled at his next words, and felt her cheeks redden.
It was silly, really, it felt like she was three years old again, carefree, not even bothering to look at the world as it was. When she was happy - before her grandfather died. It was nice being with Toronja. He made her feel like there was nothing to worry about at all in the world. And nothing mattered. Just this moment. And Torrie helped her see that life didn't have to be serious, didn't have to be loathed. As she watched the Retromorph, she felt her smile expand. She felt like someone cared. She'd never felt that since arriving at the Menagerie.
He was like no other soul she had ever met here. He was nicer than her Ring, she thought. Toronja was like a positive light to her somewhat dark life that she led. She never wanted this moment to end.
She frowned at his next question. "I honestly don't know," She said, and then, "But I don't really like it. I'd much rather have something unusual like yours. I'd like a name that actually means something." She mused, staring up at the sky - or the top of the dome - with far away eyes.
"Okay!" She exclaimed, laughing again. Toronja was very good at making her laugh, she noted. Even though she knew for a fact that he knew nothing about healing plants, she found it nice of him to offer, as such. As he stopped and smiled at her, she grinned back. Then he spotted the mushrooms and ripped them off the base. "Tor..." She laughed, taking them quickly away from him before he tried to eat them. "They could be poisonous. You never know. You shouldn't really eat things like this straight off a tree. Cooking them is sometimes good, although-" She looked around, squeezing her eyes shut, a smile playing on her lips. "I forget we don't have much to go by here in this dome."
ooc: i didn't really know if you meant like normal mushrooms xD so i just put this :3 hope its okay!<3
