Adelina crept quietly from her mother's train-car, having just dropped her daughter Reagen off for the night. She'd fudged the truth a bit and said she had dawn patrol and couldn't watch her. It was true that she had to be somewhere at dawn, but it wasn't on patrol. She'd been so bored lately, feeling stifled and smothered in her train car. And though Reagan was a joy to be around, her crying had all but driven Adelina insane. So she felt the compulsive need to do something - and now.
Adelina crept stealthily along the derailed train and continued down the way, passing the shacks and shanties built where the train-cars had fallen apart or were missing. Her feet were clad in her usual men's work-boots, her dress falling to her knees in a wave of cream and dirt stained ruffles. In her one hand she gripped her spear, but she'd decided to leave her bow here. She wasn't skilled enough to use it, even though she'd gotten some handy tips from a skilled archer and had been practicing. But she'd just take her spear and the double machetes strapped to her back - just as insurance, you know.
Bright teal eyes lit up when she finally got to her destination, nimble fingers working open the door to the train-car with practiced ease, making sure it made as little noise as possible. She tip-toed into the dark room, keen eyes trying to make out her target. She dug in her dress pockets (she'd sewn them in, and quite crookedly) and drew out a small candle and set it on the windowsill, striking a match. She lit the candle and set it down, satisfied that the inside of the car was lit just enough. With that done, Adelina made her way to the room's sleeping inhabitant and promptly climbed into his bed and atop him, straddling his chest with no discomfort or awkwardness. She wasn't too sure of his name, though thought it might be something with a C. It didn't matter much, really. "Hey," she said, poking at his face. "Hey, wake up!"
ooc; Oh, Lina XD And yess, they are starting out in the Fallen but will end up here.

Colt was sleeping quite soundly for the first time since the keepers had tossed him into the Menagerie. Finally, he was used to life in his Ring, being trained as a tenderfoot in all of the other ranks. The days were exhausting, but rewarding, particularly when he got to be a part of Medic training. Colt had found that he could miraculously heal wounds himself by simply focusing on them, a skill that many of the Fallen medics had as well.
Being part of the Ring was better than being alone, Colt decided. He’d tried to be a rogue for his first week or so, but it had been a lonely, tough experience. Finding food hadn’t been a problem in his horse shift, but being alone with his thoughts was the worst. All he could think about was how it was his fault he was in here in the first place, and how he’d gotten Gage and Levi taken away too. He couldn’t stop wondering where they were, or if they were even still alive. Oh god, if they weren’t, then it was all his fault…
Thoughts like that had kept him awake for a while, until he joined the Fallen Ring, where he worked so hard during the day that he didn’t have any problems falling asleep at night. Colt was nestled on his bed, which was really just a pile of fluffy blankets on an old, worn-out cot, hidden in one corner of the train car. A sudden weight on his chest pulled him from his sleep, and Colt awoke with a start to find some girl straddling him. “Wha? Hey lady, I don’t go that way, okay?!” He snapped, rudely pushing her off of him, but being nice enough to aim her at a spot still on his bed. “Get outta here, I’m trying to sleep,” He grumbled, turning over and burying his face into the blankets.
Adelina grunted as Colt shoved her off and she landed with a soft thump on the pile of blankets with a slight huff. She lay there for a moment, contemplating how he was going to get the stubborn horse shifter up. She couldn't really see why he was so upset, honestly. Grunting, she turned toward him. "Don't flatter yourself. I don't eat fruits." she said, smirking. "C'mon, Tender. I'm giving you an order." She said with a sharp, feral grin. She grabbed at his shoulders and hefted him up, tugging him roughly out of bed and shoving him out the train car door, hardly giving him time to fight back.
She grabbed her spear that was leaning against the side of the train car and poked at his stomach with the dull end it, grunting at him to "Shift, boy!" Adelina sighed and waited, eyeing the lanky blond with a critical eye. Kinda cute, but she was more interested in his horse shift. The big, tall horse would suit her quite well as a battle-horse, with his hooves the size of dinner plates. Pretty good for barging through a swarm of pesky little Fulsi. She was planning to use him to get through the border, along which Adam had increased security. It wasn't much of an issue for her really, half the Scouts didn't know the difference between a fresh scent and an old one, and she took enough precautions so that she left little to no trace that she'd even been there. But on her last little scouting mission to try and visit her father, she'd seen a pretty big patrol. And though she was confident in her fighting skills she knew that it was common - where there was one Fulsi, there would be a dozen more. She snorted in contempt and prodded at her mount again, this time a bit more sharply. "Hurry up," Time was of the essence and she didn't plan on waiting too much longer.

Colt rolled his eyes at the girl’s comments. So, she was a clever one then. He turned to roll over and go back to sleep, when Adelina grabbed him by the shoulders and actually lifted him to his feet. He’d underestimated her strength it seemed, and before he knew it, she had him outside in the pre-dawn desert, the sun just a faint glow on the horizon. Oh, god, it was way too early for this. Colt sighed and gave her an exasperated look, but Lina didn’t seem to care, jabbing at him with the butt of her spear. “Ow, geez!” He muttered, rubbing the already-sore spot. “What for?” He questioned, giving her a skeptical stare. “Oof, fine!” He snapped as Lina jabbed him again, a little harder this time.
In a moment, he’d shifted into his enormous Clydesdale form, a beast of a horse that stood a little over 18 hands high, and weighed over a ton. Colt still felt so awkward being such a big animal, but even though it was a change, somehow it had begun to feel natural. He flicked his long, billowing black tail in annoyance as the girl used her spear and dug it into the sand, and then messily pole-vaulted onto his back. “Hey, hey! What do you think you’re doing?!” He snapped as she struggled to get her leg over his massive back, roughly tugging on his mane to center herself. “Geez, woman!” Colt huffed when she was finally stable.
And then he realized something odd… someone was riding him! He fidgeted his giant, feathery hooves nervously. Colt had barely let anyone touch his horse form before, much less letting them climb onto him and go for a ride. “Soo… where are we going?” He asked, resigned to the fact that he was going to have to chauffeur his rather obnoxious superior around. Instead of answering, Adelina merely kicked his sides until he moved, and guided him by pulling his mane in the right direction. Colt let out a frustrated snort as she dug her heels into him, urging him to go faster. “You could just ask you know!” He snapped, before taking off at an all-out sudden gallop. If she wanted a ride, she was going to get one.
When Colt finally realized their destination, it was too late. He skidded to a halt and stared up at the looming skycrapers, a shiver of fear running down his spine. “Oooh, no… The Fulsi are gonna kill us!” He cried when she guided him to the border. “No way, lady!” Colt tried to turn and leave, but Adelina turned his head back in towards his body, and somehow he found that he couldn’t resist her, and ended up walking in circles. “Fine, fine, FINE! Let’s… just be quick, okay?”

It was a long ride, and a quiet one - at least on her behalf. She didn't see much point in answering the tender, seeing as all he wanted to do was complain. Adelina shook her head and scrunched her nose - she hated complainers. She knew it was hard for them to adjust to this new life, when many of them were spoiled and not used to the demands The Menagerie made. But Adelina was certainly used to it, and in fact she thrived in these conditions. Being raised in the Fallen had given her the best of both worlds. They taught her to survive and to fight, but also how to delegate and make peace. Not like she was necessarily a peacemaker first, but. You know.
She'd decided to take this tenderfoot Colt out for a ride this morning because he seemed the type to take her orders. If not willingly, she knew if she applied enough force she could ride him out by sunrise. And hey! Would ya look at that? She was right! Not like she was ever really wrong, anyhow. But when he started balking at the Fulsi border, Adelina rolled her eyes. "Shuddup, tenderfoot! You wanna get us killed with your big mouth? 'Cos that's the only way they'll find us." When he tried to turn away, Adelina snorted and pulled his head back towards her foot, seeing if the old trick would work. It did, of course, and Colt was forced to turn in a circle; she loved instincts. When he finally relented, she reached down and patted his thick neck. "No worries, tenderfoot. I know a secret passageway." She snorted out a laugh and commanded him on with a tap of her spear-butt on his rump.
She kept him to the outskirts at first, but when she sensed a patrol on it's way (the time was about right) she skirted towards the innards of the city, but towards the less frequented parts of the territory. Adam had started patrolling these areas more and more and it was getting harder to sneak by. But he couldn't protect every area of his over-sized city, and it was rather easy for her to sneak by undetected. Now, riding a big horse was a different story, but after about 15-20 minutes of silent, slow travel they reached the mall. She pulled Colt to a stop behind the mall and hopped off of him, patting his shoulder and giving him a nod.
"Follow me." She muttered and turned walked slowly forward, creeping down the dark alleyway behind the mall, where in it's prime the dumpsters were loaded. It still held the reek of refuse, but Adelina was interested only in the scent as she tried to discern any fresh Fulsi scent. Nothing here, but that didn't mean the mall was a safe zone either. She swept past the first, second and third doors, knowing already from previous missions that they were blocked. But the third was always open, and it didn't fail her this time. She painstakingly pried the door open, waited for the usual slight groan of the hinge, and crept inside. She motioned for Colt the all clear a moment later and continued inside the mall.
It was always such an interesting place, the Mall. Most folk knew what they were - but Adelina had to be told. People went here to buy stuff - useless junk. Toys, little square boxes that had moving pictures on them. Called them video games. One time, a Rogue had managed to get his hands on one and he'd shown her how it worked. Pretty damn boring, if you asked her. She'd rather go out and hunt and shoot real prey instead of bouncing on trippy mushrooms and turtles. She moved slowly, keeping her eyes peeled for traces of the Keepers; they made frequent drops here. And even if the Fulsi found them, often times they would hide the extra bits here until they could come back with more hands. It was a drop such as this that she was looking for.
And she found it! It was tossed in a bin that was shoved more or less into the center of a courtyard. Instinctively she knew that it could be a trap. But it smelled like it had food in it - food that was stuffed with nutrients. And the Fallen could use that right about now, what with having to donate a substantial supply of their food to the freakin' Carna. She considered sending Colt out there to check it out. But her mind played out what might happen - a big Fulsi leaping from the shadows and impaling the poor Tenderfoot before he knew what hit him. And she wasn't about to let that happen to the poor kid. She considered for about a second or two more before cautiously stepping out into the open, her senses wide awake and screaming at her that something was wrong. But it was too late. That one step was all it took, and five Fulsi came rushing out from the shadows, effectively surrounding them. "Well, shit." Adelina said with a crooked grin, hefting her spear with one hand and drawing a machete with the other. Time to go to work.
ooc; wtf long out of nowhere XD
