[shadow=red,left,300][glow=red,2,300]Stars. Forever its always been the stars. They guided her, showing her the path her life took. They were the only clue to her past, memories lost in a sea of blood and always….always the stars…
Memories. What useless things, or at least that’s what she thought sometimes. Nowadays life was all about action. Taking initiative whenever the opportunity arose…It had been like that as far as her memories allowed, which was all of a week ago. The day she first awoke in the Menagerie… That day had been a cool day, an early warning of the winter yet to come. Even now she could feel the chill in her very bones. She had awoken in the Nilda’s territory, frozen and confused, alone with no memories. But the pack had taken her in, and for that she was grateful. Still, however, she was haunted by these memories. It was for this reason she returned to the spot where she had awakened. This very park she lay in now.
The trees were almost bare here, their brown crinkling leaves covering her body, camouflaging with her matted brown fur to create the illusion of an ordinary leaf pile that, should one pay close enough attention to, they would notice a pair of bright eyes staring out from. Her tail barely twitched, the only revealing feature of her presence aside from her eyes. The wind picked up, driving the light rain and icy chill deep into her already damp fur, causing her to shiver slightly. One of the leaves brushed against her nose. She huffed loudly, causing a few leaves around her muzzle to jump into the air, then drift lazily back into their positions.
“Why am I even here” she wondered aloud, her gaze lifting to those stars that haunted and comforted her all at once. As she gazed, she saw not the stars, but rather heard that same comforting voice of her memories, the one thing she could remember clearly, it seemed to douse her in both safety and pain. A soft whine lifted from her, almost inaudible as she lay her maw upon her paws once more. “I don’t even know…what I’m looking for…” In truth she was simply avoiding. Even those of the Nilda pack, who she supposedly belonged with, seemed…different. She wasn’t sure she really fit in with anyone. She was too…different. Always that accursed word that haunted her. Just like the stars… Always the stars… Always the memories…
