Psychological Evaluation and Background
SEXUAL PREFERENCE: StraightSashay was born in a quiet home where she spent much of her time entertaining herself. Her father was always working and her mother never left her room. However, she was also a privileged child. Her and her sister, Annie, dressed in the prettiest, highest-quality dresses. They were well-mannered and attended church every Sunday. They would fold their hands together by night and pray, thankful for each other and thankful for their home. Still, they got little to no attention. Such wealth was the wrong kind of wealth. Sashay much preferred a hug, a smile, a wink. But all she got were her big sister's gestures.
PERSONALITY TRAITS: Born of focus and malice, Sashay retaliates in dangerous ways. Just coming across her could mean a temperamental adventure. She is rage unleashed in every aspect of the word, and she has little to no mercy for those beneath her. Despite these outbursts, she doesn't go seeking trouble. She would rather be alone, and she could be described as mentally and physically tired. Much of her time is spent sleeping, but if provoked she is a wild-wind. She is weak in her human form, but her temper and her shift provides her with enough to take someone out. Much like her older sister, she is a very good servant and follower. She does not know her Alpha, but she would fight to the death for whatever be his will.
She has little curiosity of other rings, Keepers, or the outside world. She dedicates the time she's awake to learning about her own ring, and how to prove herself to be something better. She has a really difficult time focusing on anything, though she will try. She is quite focused in a fight, but otherwise her mind is scrambling to understand what is going on. She is very forgetful, and her mind does not have the energy to hang on to things such as what she was doing, told to do, going to go get something, or otherwise.
What separates her from Eris is how delicate she is. She knows she is fragile, and should someone care enough, she knows when it's okay to fall into someone's arms. She's very up and down emotional and spends a lot of time crying over things that normally aren't a big deal. She has a very guilty mind. She radiates with shame and can hardly stand to face the day. Her anxiety sends her into fits of shaking, making her seem fearful, and yet she can still turn around and become a beast.
KNOWN HISTORY:
Annie did her best to be happy for her baby sister, but as she grew, Annie got into trouble. She would come home late and snap at Sashay for waiting up for her. "Are you foolish? Go to sleep."
"I was worried about you. Annie, why do you have booboos on your face?" Sashay pondered the purples and blues that decorated her big sister's face more frequently day by day.
"I fell." She would hiss and Sashay would frown. This was not like her big sister at all.
Time went by until she saw little of her beautiful sister at all. She saw on the TVs stories about two snakes attacking the city. They were called shifters they said. They said there was a man and a small female, but little information was known.
"Hey, sister." Sashay would squeak, pushing open Annie's door.
"Yes, Sashay?" Sashay watched Annie. She wanted to be like Annie. Annie was skinny and small and beautiful. She stopped growing much and only changed into a more woman-like shape as she grew older. But she stayed small. She stayed beautiful.
"Annie, those pictures on the TV- did you see the scary snakes?" She would ask.
"Yes, I did." Annie would watch her with focused interest. Curiosity filled her always big, child-like fawn eyes. Those eyes were also something Sashay envied. "Do not fear. Just because something is misunderstood does not make it scary."
"They are hurting people." Sashay pointed out, and Annie winced.
"Go to bed."
"Yes, sister."
They grew and grew until Annie was 16. She'd changed dramatically. If anything, she was smaller. Her skin always looked blue, and her once golden eyes seemed to darken to black. They were not as black as her hair, however, which tumbled beautifully down her back. She dressed more provocatively, but no matter what, Sashay thought she was beautiful.
They no longer spoke. Annie would not talk much at all anyway. She always seemed to be somewhere else in her mind.
One particular night, however, when Sashay went into Annie's room, Annie was curled up on the bed. She had not left that night, which was rare, almost as though she were disobeying fate. "Annie! You're home!" Sashay cheered. No response. "Annie, I used your toothbrush. I'm sorry." She waited for a response. The small frame sat up and looked at her. She looked dead. "You look tired."
Annie smiled at her. "I'm alright. It's late. Have you had dinner yet?"
Something was wrong.
"Eris..." There was an echoing hiss around the entire room. One crash of thunder from outside seemed to make it rain harder, and the light flickered.
"Annie!" Sashay squealed, blinded momentarily. The lights came on again, duller, weak and flickering.
"You need to leave. It will be alright. He calls me Eris. It is ok. He loves me. That's why those people had to hurt. He loves me. It's not my fault." Annie's eyes went blank and then she seemed to return with a weak smile. Sashay smiled back. She didn't know what any of that meant, but her sister was so brave.
"Erissss." The hiss echoed again.
"Sashay- go. I will see you in the morning." Sashay was reassured. Her sister was always right. Her sister was beautiful. Her sister was perfect! When Sashay hurried down the hall and ran to her room, she shut the door tightly. She heard a blood-curdling scream that hardly sounded like her brave sister. It was drowned out by more thunder and rain. "Annie?!" She squeaked, pulling the door open and running back down the hallway. She heard more muffled screams. Sashay pounded on Annie's locked door. "Annie!" Her sister was in pain! Her sister was scared! Her whole world crumbled down. If Annie was scared, how could she function? Her sister was her brave protection, perfection at its finest. "Annie!!!" She sobbed, listening to 15 minutes of struggle, pain, and cries most horrific.
Until it was silent. The door swung open, rattling against its hinges.
"Be thankful I didn't make you watch." The hiss sounded, and then disappeared. It was dark, and Sashay stumbled towards Annie's bed, almost tripping on the naked, bloody girl on the floor. "Annie, where are your clothes?" The shaking girl did not respond. Her eyes were wide and glazed over. There was blood on the bed and the floor. Annie looked like death.
Sashay started sobbing. "You're so pretty." She said to her sister, and covered her with a blanket. "You're so pretty. You'll be beautiful in the morning. It'll be better in the morning." She sobbed and sobbed and Annie never stopped shaking, but the little girl managed to fall asleep next to the bloodied, horrified form.
When she awoke, there was no blood. The bed was made. Everything was pristine. And there was no Annie.
"Sister, I had a scary dream last night."
For a full year she would walk around the house and Annie's room, talking to a girl that wasn't there. She heard on the picture box the two shifters had been captured and sent the the Menagerie. She never connected the dots. Her father came home once and sent her to therapy and sheltered her from the eyes of the world so she would not shame him.
"You're so pretty, Annie. I love you! Everything is okay now. You're so pretty, Annie. I had the scariest dream..."
Eventually, as she grew, her mind blocked her sister's existence from her. She strived to be small, thin, and beautiful, because the ideas were still present. The source was blocked. The coping method felt great. It wasn't until her father tried to put her in inpatient therapy that her own shift released, a large bear. As she nearly mauled him to death, he survived thanks to those who captured her.
And she arrived...At the Menagerie.
"I had the scariest dream..."
