Cause lately I've been waking up alone, Pain splattered teardrops on my shirt, Told you I'd let them go,
Outside the sun had blistered down on the desert. The life forms that occupied it sought release in the shade. They had put up shades along the carriages to keep the heat out and provide more shade and safety. This dystrophic world still had a little charm, and the carriages were well taken care of and not mistreated. There was a constant reminder of the outside, the world of humans.
But this train... it had derailed, like the dome had done for what she suspected most other lives that now existed within it. Derailment is often associated with a train accident, when the train slips the tracks and plougs into an unknown course. In some sense Daisy suffered from her own derailment. She had been the cause of an accident- and rather than stick to the rules, she derailed and went off course. Her accident resulted in the death of a much loved brother, but also her capture and arrival in the dome.
Sitting in an empty carriage of the express, the small blonde stared at nothingness- and instead rode the train of thoughts.
Those thoughts did not make any stops in the past, instead she pondered over her new life here... Quick had found her trespassing and recognised her as new blood. She had been delivered like a new article for the fashion industry. Clean, her clothes not tacky or weathered- her hair smooth and salon styled. Her skin smooth and untarnished, neither obese nor anorexic. The beta had offered her sanctuary. But his companionship had also allowed her time to adapt and learn about this world she had no choice about living in.
Daisy appeared exhausted. She sat in the carriage chair, her legs tucked up against her chest and cradled in her arms. She was not as clean as she had arrived, but still golden from the kiss of the sun. Her clothes were wrinkled and flecks of sand sprinkled all over her, but it did not bother her. Taking a deep breath her head sank against the chair and she closed her eyes, suddenly feeling just how heavy they were against her eyes.
Daisy had not slept well since she had arrived here. Her dreams were plagued with thoughts that she would exhaust herself avoiding. This was often carried out by not sleeping, and merely resting her eyes every now and then- but not allowing herself to drop into a slumber.
Breathing in the cool air around her- she rested for a moment. The last forty-eight hours had been a somewhat shock to the system. Her reality was now a zoo, or a prison- with others of her kind, and even stranger types… ones she thought only existed in folk-lore. She had to assimilate though, there was no other choice.
But for now, she would rest. She would let down her guard, and hope that this sanctuary would be… a sanctuary to her too.
Give a little time to me or burn this out, We'll play hide and seek to turn this around,

Choose your battles, babe... Then you win the war...
Stop digging your own grave...There's so much to live for... ||Meerkat Shapeshifter|| ALONE|| Her Clothes
The day had started out well, save being yelled at once more for causing trouble. The younger Shaw boy had been out in the oasis all night, instead of where he should have been: helping the Ring. It wasn’t his fault that he had a one-track mind; everything seemed to just filter through it. Aiden had only ever been able to focus on one thing at a time and that had not changed with age. Whilst he had matured quite evidently, he had also not lost that spark that had always followed him around. It was much worse without his Adderall though; he couldn’t focus, he couldn’t sit still for more than a few moments, and he was constantly talking about nothing in particular. ADHD was meant to get better with age wasn’t it? His certainly had not; if anything, being in the Menagerie had made it much, much worse. The omega thankfully didn’t have too many duties, owing to the fact that he could rarely be trusted to keep occupied with the same thing for more than a few minutes. He knew he would have to work on that; he needed to help the Ring survive.
In his canine form, the shapeshifter ran along the carriages of the derailed train. The sun was baring its teeth upon the Fallen, heating the sands beneath their feet and stinging their eyes. If only I still had my sunglasses in here, the man thought to himself, padding along slowly. He walked on one side of the train, the side without doors, and only a few windows every few carriages or so. The metal of the train was absorbing the heat and Aiden could see the waves radiate off it. His red merle coat shook in the warm wind that flowed past every few minutes, heating him up even further. The oasis had been taken over by some hunters, causing Aiden to seek shelter elsewhere. He was never really welcome among who he noted as being the ‘elitists’ of the Ring. They thought they were the brawn and the brains of the operation, a total overreaction. Everyone knew Tomas, Quick and Tori were the leaders, the ones that they relied on the most. The hunters were the brawn, simply gatherers, and the scouts were protectors, and the medics were healers – like his brother. Omegas were the scapegoats, the lowest of the Ring, but they could still find their importance somewhere. Aiden was almost completely useless, except after being in the police force for so long, he felt equally as comfortable in his canine form, able to perform a large range of feats with no thumbs.
As he rounded the head of the train, he caught a scent, suddenly downwind of the carriages. Raising his nose, Aiden padded along quickly, searching for the source of the smell. It was not Fallen, he could tell that much, but it did have that scent surrounding it. The scent was one he had not caught in many years – it was the scent of outside. Aiden finally caught up to the carriage from which the scent wafted. Pausing he put his front paws up on the first step, peering inside the carriage. A makeshift annex protruded from the doorway, covering him in shade. He had to blink a few times for his eyes to adjust to the darkness of the carriage. Slowly he saw the figure of a female, at least a few years younger than himself, with eyes closed in one of the seats.
Taking another smell, he caught his beta’s scent, realising that the girl was hands-off territory. Still, she smelled of outside, which meant she was knew to the place, so perhaps he could help her out a little. Pushing off his back legs, the shepherd jumped into the carriage, padding over to one of the other seats on the train. Aiden shifted back into his human form with ease, repeating the action he had undertaken so many times before. He had ditched his shirt back in his room, not wanting to soak it in sweat from the heat. Instead he simply wore a pair of jeans, rolled up so they sat midway down his shins. His chest was slightly muscled, but betrayed his meagre diet. Black, leather, fingerless gloves clung to each of his hands, his only memory of before. Sitting down on the seat opposite the girl, his lips curled into a smile.
“You’ve certainly got the right idea. It’s stinking hot out there; you’d think it was the Aussie desert or something.”

I'm waking up to ash and dust I wipe my brow and I sweat my rust I'm breathing in the chemicals
Closing her eyes, Daisy felt a relaxing sensation overwhelm her. Liberation from her tenseness and insecurities spread through her muscles like wildfire. Behind the curtains that closed her eyes from reality- she was back home, in her own familiar bed enjoying the cool breeze that forecast a storm approaching. The sound of her mother yelling at her brothers who wrestled outside in the heat of the day… listening to the dog bark at them in excitement. Her father sitting there, smoking his pipe…
She could almost smell her mother’s cooking, the flavorsome aroma that made her stomach grumble. Although she had only been here a few days- she craved her mother’s cooking, her brother’s companionship. She missed her dog, missed her freedom.
As everything flowed around in her mind- like an old fashioned movie, she became restless. What exhaustion had promised her with relief only brought back the memories she did not want to dote on further. Instead of a deep slumber to return her body that natural supply of energy- she was light, and uneasy.
A loud thud brought her back to reality. It was then, that she felt eyes on her. Much the same way she had felt when she had been interrogated by the Keepers. She felt like she sat in that empty room surrounded by mirrors- but knew that behind every single one… someone was watching her. Waiting for her to crack.
Her eyes slid open- to find somebody sitting across from her. The room smelt like dog. Daisy, petite and quiet shifted uncomfortably in her seat. Finding it hard to read him- even with the smile. Her reaction perhaps was not what he expected- being topless and all. Daisy was familiar with boys running around without their shirts on. The heat seemed to give them permission not to wear apparel. “You’ve certainly got the right idea. It’s stinking hot out there; you’d think it was the Aussie desert or something.”
She nodded and looked outside, “It is hot.”
Watching the sun stab at the environment around the carriages, it would seem that the heat was melting everything in the distance. Everything a blur. But it wasn’t as hot as home could get, so it was tolerable to Daisy. She sat there in dark green cargo pants and with her navy blue t-shirt- her jacket not far from her reach.
Glancing back at the man that sat opposite her, “So, you are from Australia then?”
Curious now- her blue eyes looked him up and down, before returning back to his eyes. Having studied him for the moment, she gathered he must be another shape shifter. He otherwise appeared human in appearance. She brushed a strand of her golden blonde hair that had fallen out, back into place and took a deep breath. There was no use making enemies here. Not if she planned on living.
I'm breaking in, shaping up, then checking out on the prison bus This is it, the apocalypse Whoa

The blonde girl’s reaction was not exactly what he had thought it would be. She seemed almost uncomfortable that he had intruded on her rest, but Aiden was rarely fazed by such things. Those thoughts were pushed to the back of his mind, back to the place where he kept all those insults from the people of his past. You’re stupid, you’re annoying, you’re too loud, too energetic, can’t focus, can’t sit still, stop that, stop this, go here, you’re doing that wrong… All those things were things he had heard all too often from teachers, his mother, his brother, strangers on the street, Fallen members. Everyone thought the same of him; he was an inconvenience and should simply go away. Robin never voiced the thought but Aiden knew even his older brother could get fed up with him every now and then. Still, he had learned to move past that; why should he care what other people thought of him? Thoughts like theirs would not change his behaviour overnight. Only he could change himself.
A smile crossed Aiden’s lips and he nodded in agreement. Wagga got hot too but, there was something different about the heat in the dome. It felt more stifling, like they couldn’t get any fresh air. The dome was meant to allow clean air inside, kind of like a semi-permeable membrane, but Aiden often wondered if it was instead designed to asphyxiate. It was the Keeper’s cruel plan, their construct and their device of cruelty. It was their way of controlling the beasts within. They could kill everyone inside if they wanted to. So why didn’t they? Aiden’s thoughts filled with these distractions as he tried to focus on the girl before him. How old was she? Younger than me, but older than a school kid. Where was she from? He couldn’t think of an answer for that question. Did it really matter though? The past was the past and it wasn’t like they were going home anytime soon. The real question was where did her loyalties lie? She hadn’t killed him though, so that was a sign.
“Mmmm,” Aiden nodded slowly, pulling at a loose thread on the upholstery beneath him. “Born and bred. Thankfully not in the desert though. I’m from a farm. How about you?” General curiosity tugged at him and he watched her carefully. Her hair was so golden, he noted, like from the fairy-tale where the dragon kidnaps the girl with the golden hair. What happened to that girl? Aiden’s thoughts turned distractedly to the story his mother had told him, but he still could not remember the ending. He hoped she lived but, in a world like theirs that was very unlikely. UNIT wouldn’t allow a girl to see a dragon and live to tell the tale. They weren’t like shifters; dragons weren’t for show.
“How long have you been in here?” It took a few moments for Aiden to realise he had asked the question aloud. Turning hot, he looked back down at his hands and began to play around with them. He scratched at the stains on his jeans, but none of them budged. His mother never would have let him leave the house looking the way he did. She’s dead, his thoughts interrupted and Aiden looked up suddenly at the girl. “Sorry, that was rude. I, uh, I’m Aiden. I’ve been here a good few years but you, you just seem to smell of out there a little so I thought maybe you were quite new. But you, uh, you don’t have to answer if you don’t want.” His accent tainted a few of the words. Often Australians were told that they spoke too quickly and Aiden was no exception to this claim. He hoped that the girl would be able to keep up with what he was saying. Either way, his apologetic look towards her gave away the main gist of his speech.

You could beat the world You could beat the war You could talk to God, go banging on his door
Daisy noticed how he caught how uneasy she was when he had first appeared. Wasn’t that the norm though? Was she not supposed to seem cautious of a stranger suddenly entering her safety? Stranger- danger… that sort of thing…
Again his smile flooded in her direction- and this time she decided to return it. A small crooked smile raised in the corner of her mouth- before her eyes darted back out to watch the sun pick on the desert. For a small amount of time, she would remain shy and suspicious of those around her- but being a social creature, how long could that truly last?
“Mmmm,”
Daisy’s eyes returned back to the coolness of the carriage- taking a few moments to adjust. Now focusing on this tall stranger as he plucked the upholstery of the furniture. It was always awkward meeting someone new- and though Daisy had been schooled in her younger years, but that daft sort of easiness to create friends was lost when she retreated back with her family as a recluse. “Born and bred. Thankfully not in the desert though. I’m from a farm. How about you?”
She smiled, “You don’t like the heat?” she asked. Having lived in the arid and somewhat barren desert, she had come to relish in the heat- where rain was like Christmas to humanity. It would be safe to assume- that Daisy had never seen the ocean, nor a green forest. Her body’s core temperature was currently set to run on high.
Seeming to avoid the question, “I was raised in a desert- so, I guess this is just like home for me.”
“How long have you been in here?”
Suddenly Daisy was not the most social one. She was not the one firing all the questions.
“Sorry, that was rude. I, uh, I’m Aiden. I’ve been here a good few years but you, you just seem to smell of out there a little so I thought maybe you were quite new. But you, uh, you don’t have to answer if you don’t want.”
She couldn’t help but notice how he fidgeted, how he went red in the face. .. Even for a moment, she struggled to comprehend the words- as he threw them out so quickly.
Was he nervous around her? Did she make him nervous? Or… was it the other way around- did he think he was intruding? She was finding it very hard to read him. Usually it was not so with males- it was the females she had trouble with.
So, Aiden was his name. Not unusual, but nice. She smiled and nodded at his explanation, “Well Aiden, to be honest… I am losing track of the days. A day or two maybe,” she shrugged her shoulders, and shook her head slightly confused.
She moistened her lips and took a deep breath, “I’m Daisy.”
You can go the distance You can run the mile You can walk straight through hell with a smile

Leaning back against the seat, Aiden kept his eyes glued to the girl opposite him. She still seemed somewhat weary of him, but he simply put that to the fact that she was clearly new around the place. Of course, he too had to be aware of the fact that she was not a pledged Fallen just yet. Perhaps she would instead join another one of the Rings, or become a rogue, wandering the strange cage alone. He could never imagine himself becoming a rogue again; it had been a bad enough experience with his brother by his side. The pair had barely escaped numerous scrapes with all sorts of creatures in the false world. They were lucky they had found the Fallen, and been allowed to join their ranks. Whilst his brother upgraded to a medic, Aiden still liked to have some sort of freedom, remaining in the lower ranks.
At the sound of her having been raised in a desert, the older man felt his eyes widen slightly. An amused grin crossed his lips as he looked her up and down quickly. She seemed to have the darker features that would give away such a characteristic, but Aiden had been too distracted to notice it earlier. Besides, such a thing could be easily mistaken for simply having grown up in another area of high sun, such as Queensland. Bogan territory, the Aussie mused to himself, trying not to let the grin show outwardly. He missed Australian accents. There were all sorts of new ones in this new world; some he had never heard before.
Looking back up from his fidgeting hands, Aiden smiled slightly as the girl continued on. Pleased that she seemed to be unoffended, Aiden mentally congratulated himself for not making a complete fool of himself and scaring her off. A day or two. Not long at all. The thought made him slightly more nervous. She was impressionable; anything he said now could lead to her joining Fallen or simply leaving and taking up Carna as her home. Not that it mattered. In all honesty Aiden didn’t care too much what Ring she ended up in; as long as she didn’t end up dead on his watch. If one of the other Fallen had brought her here though, she could be trusted, and that was enough for him.
“Daisy,” he mused softly, smiling a little wider. His fingers maintained their steady pull and twist of the thread on the corner of the chair, but his eyes averted their gaze to the figure before him. “That’s a pretty name. Sad thing you gotta be stuck in here…” Aiden’s voice faltered and he looked down at his hands again, cursing himself for saying such a thing.
“Sorry. It’s not all bad in here, really.” The shifter paused his fiddling and instead looked out the door from which he had entered, a frown playing on his expression. “It was bad at first but it gets better. You learn to live with it I guess. And there’s still fun to be had. Some of the Carnas are awfully serious, so playing tricks on them is great fun.” Laughing a little, he turned his head back in Daisy’s direction. “But, you know, you’d do best not to piss them off straight off the bat. But you’re always safe in here with Fallen. And if you ever need anything just tell one of the scouts you’re here to see me.” Pausing, the frown creased his brow again. “Actually… That’d depend on which scout… Some of them don’t take my jokes too well.” Grinning, Aiden laughed once more. His laugh was deep and from the chest, a genuine, amused sound that rang softly through the carriage. Eyes glistening, he looked across at Daisy, his posture starting to relax. Perhaps she wasn’t so bad.

Close your eyes and feel their arms around you now Baby just like me I'm sure they're thinking of you But know somehow this will all work out
Daisy glanced back out the window, the hot breeze carried off sand in a small whirlwind- dancing in the hot sun. Doing a sun dance, a heat dance… or whatever they may call it. The hot beads of sand were nothing special here though. Under the dome, in this strange formed world—there was nothing special about any of it. Nothing. The grains of sand… they were just bone dry- didn’t even glisten in the sun.
It was quite depressing actually.
“Daisy,”
She glanced over at Aiden, hearing her name. Her said it, musing over it as though it was the light found in the dark. Strange that a name could offer so much- but also make one judge a book by its cover. If someone was called Minky—you would suppose they were playful, or a name like Bruce would appear intimidating. But what did Daisy symbolize… peace? Gentleness?
She watched him continue to fiddle with a piece of string from his pants. Whether it was bothering him, or he was nervous- she couldn’t really pick.
“That’s a pretty name. Sad thing you gotta be stuck in here…”
She smirked. She knew what he meant, and that he didn’t really mean any offence by it. It was unfortunate that they were here… Humanity was cruel.
“Sorry. It’s not all bad in here, really.”
Daisy’s eyes darted to his- he was embarrassed by what he had said. She watched his neutral expression fade into a frown. Was it really that bad here?
“It was bad at first but it gets better. You learn to live with it I guess. And there’s still fun to be had. Some of the Carnas are awfully serious, so playing tricks on them is great fun… But, you know, you’d do best not to piss them off straight off the bat. But you’re always safe in here with Fallen. And if you ever need anything just tell one of the scouts you’re here to see me… Actually… That’d depend on which scout… Some of them don’t take my jokes too well.”
She smiled genuinely at his explanation of the zoo they were in together. It was interesting hearing it from him- in his words. He wasn’t so serious. He saw the fun to be had. He seemed to look on the positive side of things.
She liked people like that.
“I’ll make sure I remember that. Thanks,” she said glancing over at him, “So, you are a shapeshifter?” Again her eyes searched him, looking for any sign of why he could possibly be in here. He didn’t seem like anything other than a shapeshifter. But, Daisy wouldn’t know. She had only ever really been around her family…
The desert soon will turn to bloom You'll start to feel a change in you The sky will seem a deeper blue than it ever was before

At the sight of her smile, Aiden couldn’t help but reciprocate. At least he had made her smile. It was often difficult to find people with a genuine sense of humour in the Menagerie; it was all a side effect of the things they had been through. Despite this, Aiden had not yet lost his ability to joke around. His jokes were the only thing he had going for him; as a lowly Omega he didn’t often have much substance to his life. His days were monotonous, but at least he was alive. The same couldn’t be said for the old alpha Skye. Still, she had died to protect them right? It was all a huge mess and their current alpha was trying to pick up the pieces. Aiden knew the dangers of their world; he was lucky enough not have been killed on one of his many crazy adventures.
Tapping his fingers against his leg, Aiden continued to try and keep his concentration. There was no medication in the M and healers simply weren’t capable of curing mental disease. It was getting worse and he knew it. Unable to control his thoughts and movements, Aiden could no longer sit still comfortably for lengthy periods of time. However he was brought to attention by Daisy’s question, which caused a smile to play across his features once more. Raising one eyebrow, he regarded her carefully. How much did she know about the other creatures of the dome?
“Yes, I’m most definitely a shapeshifter. Which is lucky for you. If I were a virus you would already be dead,” Aiden paused, suddenly aware of the fact that it was not a particularly kind or comforting thing to have said. Frowning, he held his hands out in a small apology before going back to his tapping. “I’m an Australian shepherd shifter. Dogs are man’s best friend after all and it’s a pretty good shift. How about you? Are you a lion or something?” Grinning, Aiden’s voice took on a playful tone as he leaned closer to Daisy. He could definitely imagine her as something ferocious like a lion or tiger but whether or not she was remained to be seen. Sometimes people took on shifts that were entirely unlike their character. Aiden was loyal though, so he understood why his other form was a canine.
“There aren’t only shifters though you know.” The Australian looked at her with a questioning gaze, not sure if she had already been informed of the strange beasts of the Menagerie. The Keepers were insane so it was only natural that they thought up such wonderful and intriguing things such as anthros and viruses. “Retromorphs are kinda like us but they were animals first and turn into humans. None of them hang out with Rings though, they all like to stick to their own kind. You’ve probably seen some anthros. Keepers were unkind to them…” Pausing, Aiden tried to think were to continue. “They got mutated and stuff so now they’re half shifted. They’re allowed with us and some are in Fulsi I think. Most were annihilated in some huge war but now they’ve formed another group. Anyway, viruses are the worst. Keeper creations again and they just want to infect and kill. If you ever see one turn tail and run or it’ll be the last thing you see.” He was acting like a child telling a ghost story, sitting forward on his chair and talking in a low whisper. Of course, to Aiden, it was simply his duty to inform the girl of the dangers. It could certainly have been done in a more sympathetic manner though.

If this is to end in fire Then we shall all burn together Watch the flames climb high into the night Calling out father, stand by and we will
Daisy was not always the brightest- she knew that. But she could be quick to pick up on things- and this man before her, had a habit of not sitting still. He always had to be moving. How many people would find these perks annoying and bothersome?
“Yes, I’m most definitely a shapeshifter. Which is lucky for you. If I were a virus you would already be dead,”
Daisy looked at him, a confused look crossing her brow. Though Quick had mentioned other entities, he had not explained in full depth what she was up against in here. Perhaps he had not wanted to frighten her. It now crossed her that Aiden was the complete opposite. He wanted her to know everything- he wanted her to be prepared. The question was, how much danger was there really?
The word virus was daunting enough. But she did not know plenty about it. It made her all the more curious to find out. And she would. Maybe it could be the escape she might need?
“I’m an Australian shepherd shifter. Dogs are man’s best friend after all and it’s a pretty good shift. How about you? Are you a lion or something?”
That made sense. That is why the scent of dog lingered, and finally she was able to pin down what the smell was. Not that it was offensive. But like Aiden said, a dog was a man’s best friend. A shift she didn’t really expect to be caught up in here.
She smirked, cradling her knees against her chest and then stroking her golden locks of hair, “My mane is quite flattering is it not?” she laughed, “Gosh, if only… No, I am a meerkat.”
Yes, one of those quirky and mischievous little creatures that lived in large families, protective, social, interactive. She was one of those! That cute little creature that was friends with a pig in the Disney movie The Lion King. She was suppose to be that awesome little side kick. But she hadn’t been that at all…
“There aren’t only shifters though you know.”
His words snapped her back to reality, catching Aiden’s generous gaze- she nodded. She did know they weren’t the only species to be present in this dome.
“Retromorphs are kinda like us but they were animals first and turn into humans. None of them hang out with Rings though, they all like to stick to their own kind. You’ve probably seen some anthros. Keepers were unkind to them…”
Of course! Those people that had taken her when she was at the hospital! That is what they called them. Keepers. They had been nice to her to begin with, but when they started drilling her for more information- which she did not give, they got nasty. They forced her to shift. They had tortured her- and she hated them for that. They had emotionally black-mailed her. But she had refused to give them anything. And even now, she would tell anyone anything.
"They got mutated and stuff so now they’re half shifted. They’re allowed with us and some are in Fulsi I think. Most were annihilated in some huge war but now they've formed another group. Anyway, viruses are the worst. Keeper creations again and they just want to infect and kill. If you ever see one turn tail and run or it’ll be the last thing you see.”
Daisy was puzzled. So, a virus was a human form- tailored to infect and slowly kill out the populace under the dome. In reality, one could not tell another had a virus until after the incubation period when symptoms began to appear.
“How can you tell if they are viruses?”
Now I see fire, inside the mountain I see fire, burning the trees I see fire, hollowing souls I see fire, blood in the breeze And I hope that you'll remember me

The shifter tried his hardest not to crack a smile when Daisy revealed her true shift. Meerkats weren’t known to be the fiercest animals; to Aiden they were those cute little creatures everyone wanted to see at the zoo. Still, looks could be deceiving and Aiden had a feeling that there was more to this girl than a cute exterior. She had survived so far on her own, and had even managed to weasel her way into Fallen territory and not end up dead. It was a feat all on its own and Aiden had to give her that much. Besides, he knew that she could probably beat him in hand-to-hand combat; Aiden had always been terrible at such things. In his dog form though, he was brilliant.
Aiden managed to keep quite still whilst the girl was processing his words; though his fingers often tried to persist in their tapping motions. Instead he tried to calm himself and focus only on Daisy, an attempt at curing his own disorder. Perhaps there was a way to cope without his medication. Of course, that would certainly take a lot of self-control and Aiden was no known to have a lot of that. The odds were not in his favour but Aiden was at least determined to concentrate just for the while. He was starting to enjoy the easy flow of the conversation with Daisy, despite his initial nervousness.
At her question, Aiden cocked an eyebrow, looking at her sideways. “That’s a good question,” he offered her a sly smile, before turning his body so he was facing her more directly. “I’ve never met one myself but from what I know they are mutated. They kind of look human, but some have weird skin or creepy eyes or whatnot. And their shift forms are a mixture of different animals.” A frown turned Aiden’s features sour as he pictured a horrible beast slowly walking towards him, the stench of death following.
“So, how’re you finding it here so far? Surely it must be hard making it on your own…” Aiden petered out, not wanting to offend her by questioning her ability as a rogue. Still, he and Robin had found it hard enough as rogues and they had had each other for company. Being in a Ring was simply easier. Then again, everyone was different, and perhaps Daisy had her reasons. Whatever they were, Aiden wondered if she knew she was always welcome in Fallen.
