SUBJECT HISTORY: Deer Isle had always been a place of a certain oddness and quirks. The population had always been small, below a couple thousand, and it was to the wonderment of all that the little isle still existed after so long. So many years ago the place had been known for it's somewhat 'magical' qualities, it is to little surprise in the age of the persecution of shapeshifters (and the alike) it acted a sort of township and safe harbor for surprisingly large population of them of them. One such family was that of Rilka Denver. Rilka, or Relle, was the last of three- she had two boisterous brothers, Tom and Louie, who she could easily match in vigor and enthusiasm, and her parents, who despite still being married held little love for each other beyond their constant bickering (it was commonly known their relationship was built a love of fighting with each other). Lastly, there Grandmother who was spry and sharp for her advanced age. The whole bunch was rowdy and from her birth she could remember little else beyond happy days on the sea, playing with her brothers, safe from everything except what mother nature dealt out, which rarely went beyond the usual bumps and bruises. They lived on the coast, their entire community was their neighbors and family, the world the shore and the little forest adjacent to their house. And so those younger years are dull and of little interest unless one enjoys stories of fish themed pranks and slamming doors. Things did not begin to spin out of control until the death of their grandmother. Grandmother Denver had been an essential element in keeping the children homeschooled, away from the eye sight of the world as a whole. She was what many would consider a conspiracy type and certainly she was a little strange and intense in her methods and moods. From a young age all electronics had been banned and anything photographic in nature. The Denver children did not attend school, instead were homeschooled and despite having run of the 'world' were kept under close watch by neighbors and family friends- and they never, under any circumstances, left the isle. But then Grandmother, who had enforced all these rules and more, suddenly died. Relle was fifteen, her oldest brother twenty two and the youngest eighteen. Louie had been itching to flee the confines of Deer Isle and left the day of the funeral. Tom stuck around hardly much longer, and only out of fondness for her sister, but followed Lou's lead a couple months later. Home schooling and old bans quickly burned out; Relle was enrolled in the nearby high school before she could blink. That all being said it was no instant result of horror or discovery, as aforementioned the town of Deer Isle was fairly heavy in shifters and therefore it was an easy transition and not uncomfortable at all. Auuuuggghh. Typoooooosss and unrevised. Burrrrggg. SECTION V - OOC INFORMATION
