The bat was crouched low on a concrete wall around four feet tall, carefully inspecting the area for any threats. It was a good position for her to be in- a six foot tall humanoid bat stuck out like a sore thumb, even during the nighttime, but she could jump from this position and allow her wings to carry her to somewhere safe is she was jumped by a Nakoma scout or anything. She was on edge, listening for the slightest sound that would indicate that she could possibly be in some sort of danger.
Being out in the open like this was not a risk that she wanted to take, but she had to. She was thirsty, and knew that Nakoma had water somewhere. Sarah didn't know of any other places that were easily accessible- Carna had salt water, Fallen was a desert, Fulsi probably kept theirs ridiculously well-protected if they even had any, and retromorph territory was too far away. Besides, Sarah herself was an anthromorph. It probably wouldn't be particularly difficult to convince Nakoma to take pity on her and at least let her leave without killing her. She hoped that the tribe wasn't particularly violent anyways. Sarah knew that Bestia had always been peaceful- too peaceful for her liking- but they had likely learned a lesson from their destruction years before.
It seemed that there was nobody there. The bat lifted up her head, taking in the surrondings to ensure that she was alone. The silence was music to her ears- that meant that the coast was clear. The bat jumped down from her small concrete wall and took a few steps forward. So far, it was good. No sign of anybody, but no water either. That was fine, Sarah knew there was some, she just had to keep-
There was a sharp crack as she took her next step and the next thing the bat anthro knew, she was moving upwards, something around her and tightening uncomfortably around her wings. She let out a sound somewhere between a squeak and a screech, and finally the net began swinging unsteadily as she bat anthro moved herself rightside up again. She didn't like how the net was swinging- it was likely because of her own weight, but the wind wasn't helping any. She began to assess her situation.
The net was likely meant for hunting rather than trapping intruders, seeing how it was reacting to her weight. Sarah grabbed a piece of the rope making up the net and pressed a claw against it in an attempt to cut it open. Her efforts were futile- the rope was too thick for her claws- perhaps she could saw through it given time, but it would likely wear them down first. She couldn't try to bite through it, either- if it was too long for her claws, it was too thick for her teeth, and she wasn't eager to lose those.
So, she supposed, she'd just have to wait until somebody came along. It was the dead of night- she suspected that nobody would be around until dawn, at least. And perhaps that would be a good thing. Hopefully whoever set it was Nakoma and not a rogue, so she could talk her way out of the mess that she had gotten into. And in the meantime, she could try not to break the net so she didn't piss off whoever set it. The wind wasn't helping any.
And damn, it was cold.
