PERSONALITY TRAITS: Costin is not a very nice man, to put it simply. He's malicious, mean and scary (XDD) and has grown to take pleasure in others pain. He's very short tempered and prone to violence and no one is safe from his wrath, not even his own family. Well, especially not his own family. He resembles a vicious wolf in spirit and revels in the hunt, whether its for prey of animal or human kind. He's a bit of a sadist at heart and doesn't readily take mercy; thus, he has no real friends and pretty much advertises that he's not interested in having any.
Costin is the definition of an Alpha male. He's controlling and manipulative to a tee, and acts as the leader of a pack especially with his brother Cezar. He bosses his younger brother around and expects him to follow his every order, using his domineering yet cunning nature to get Cezar to act in ways that might normally be out of character for him. He has a way of egging his brother on into a frenzy of violence, which he uses to his advantage of course.

KNOWN HISTORY:
Born into an extremely wealthy Transylvanian family, Costin is of noble birthright, though his personality today would not often display such usual traits of nobility. The line was pure Shifter - not a trace of anything but, and thus his family was proud of their lineage and took pride in their great heritage and secret strengths. They used their Shifts to cause terror on the peasants when their rule was doubted or payments were not met. The whole of Costin's family were wolves - you know the tale of the werewolf? Utter nonsense, of course, but the tales were woven based upon sightings of Costin's family members who had slipped up and were seen shifting. Over time the peasant's simple minds spawned ideas of their own - a warring family with the Stark's was a bat shifter family, and thus the age-old war between Vampires and Werewolves began.

Costin was born the third child, with two older brothers Sascha and Misha. From a young age, Costin was taught that his oldest brother Sascha was an abomination, the product of tainted blood and worthy of nothing. Costin learned that the reason they kept Sascha alive was that he truly was worth nothing--not even death. The family kept Sacha locked away and fed him little enough to survive. Costin picked up on the violent and cruel nature towards his brother, encouraged by the approval his father showed when Costin had decided, one day, to pin Sascha down and beat him up until he was bleeding. Costin was young at the time, but as he grew older things only grew progressively more violent. He encouraged his brothers to join in on the ''fun," which consisted of mocking, teasing and beating Sascha, sometimes on a daily basis.

This went on and escalated until the brothers started following Sascha on his rare trips into town. They saw Sascha talking with a girl on several occasions, and noticed that he had a special liking to her. It enraged Costin to see Sascha happy; in his eyes, Sascha didn't deserve to be happy. And he wanted nothing more than to rip that happiness away from Sascha; so he did. One day, Costin and his brothers followed Sascha and his girlfriend (Ecaterina), planning to scare her away. But listening into their conversation, Costin heard Sascha propose to the girl, who in turn tried to get Sascha to run away with her. This pushed Costin over the edge, and blinded by the fury that came with the prospect of Sascha living a happy life with the girl of his dreams, somewhere far away from the torture he should be enduring, Costin leapt forward. He and his brothers worked as a pack and killed the girl, tearing into her like the savage wolves they were; all in front of Sascha's eyes.

After that bloody day, they never let Sascha leave his room in the castle. A few years passed in relative peace, until a Keeper showed up on their property. He went by the name of Adston and was taking a vacation in Transylvania, trying to weed out the secrets of Dracula and the infamous werewolves, etc, etc, more of a fanatic whim than any inkling as to the truth, but non-the-less he discovered the origin of the tales, the mystery that surrounded the Stark family and their rivals. He rode up to the castle in the tour bus that drove by, and decided to come back after dark. A rather seedy individual, true, and his conniving ways were paid off handsomely - he caught the beginnings of the annual hunt the Stark family had. He caught Costin, his brothers and his parents shifting, true, but no sooner had he made the report into the Menagerie base via radio connection than he was caught by the family and mauled to death.

Within a week Keepers were upon the Stark family, but Costin and the rest of his family managed to escape the snare by dashing into the woods earlier that morning, leaving Sascha bound and gagged as a welcome treat for the Keepers. The family lived in the woods as wolves for weeks, hunting prey as a pack and struggling to make it in the wilderness. His parents and brother Misha grew tired of this endeavor and assumed it would be safe back at their home, that the Keepers would have given up. Costin didn't believe it to be so, and convinced his younger brother Cezar to stay with him. It turns out Costin was right, because his parents and brother were met at their castle by the Keepers and taken to the Menagerie.

Costin and Cezar continued to live in the woods, but it was even harder with most of their pack missing. They eventually turned to terrorizing nearby ranchers for food, preying on their livestock. Costin got more than food out of the hunts, though, he reveled in the fear in the farmers eyes. One day they picked the wrong farmer to mess with. The farmer ran from them and they gave chase, and were lead into a barn. He hid, and when they ran inside the farmer darted out the door and locked the door from the outside. He discovered that the two were Shifters when the two wolves that had chased him down suddenly were banging on the barn doors and demanding to be let out. He called the Keepers, who showed up rather quickly and transported the two to the Menagerie.
